OK so.. total cleaning product noob here. I'm sure this is already gospel to many, so bear with me. Definitely have worked with a limited selection of products in basic paint correction and maintenance, but never really branched out to the fancy stuff. After a misguided attempted at wheel pretreatment, I was steered towards Sonax and picked up a bottle.
Up until this week, getting my Miro 111s clean and shiny took an hour of hunched-over manual labor, ending in sore hands and a wrecked back. Today I tried Sonax for the first time.. one pass pretreating at the DIY car wash, followed by a rinse with the spray jet three minutes later.. and my. jaw. dropped. ALL of the grease and grime just melted off. All of it. Gone. I can't believe how many painful hours I have wasted detailing those damn wheels. At 5 uses per bottle, that's 5 crappy hours saved and a value of about $150. At $15.. some might consider it pricey, but I'm gonna call that a frigging bargain. Fantastic!

Same here, due to all the rave reviews I've seen here and on other forums. But I only break out the heavy guns once in a while -- sealing/waxing the rims helps a lot, so I can just wipe them down with regular car soap.

I have some seemingly permanent damage on my wheels due to 3 years of brake dust and poor treatment... P21S did a decent job of removing a lot of it, but it's still not great looking and has tons of black spots. I also used the whole damn bottle on 4 wheels to get them halfway clean...
Sonax is next on my list. IancoleTX, where do you go when self washing? |

Yup, Sonax is awesome. I keep it and P21s around - when the job is really nasty, I'll use the Sonax. But for routine cleaning, the P21s certainly gets the job done.
