Roundel Magazine - 1M Article
Not to start the 1M vs. M3 war over again but I think most will find this article entertaining...

haha, i mean sad to hear about the coffee spilling in the car, but I mean im quite sure there is more reason to get a 1M then jabbing the throttle mid turn and getting coffee to spill.

I consider it a light hearted and very sarcastic article that pokes a jab at those who haven't actually spent any time in a 1M but assume it isn't worthy. Those of us who would cry at the thought of spilling hot coffee all over the inside of our cars will get a good laugh.

2 things:
1) The dad is an idiot for judging the car based on the way it looks standing still. 2) The son is an idiot for letting someone bring coffee into the car, specially if he had in mind putting the car sideways. |

I picked my car up today. I'll write a better report when I get to know it better, but I'm a bit shocked by the snappiness of the tail.
My last truly tail-happy car was my S50 Z3 M Coupe... high-revving, nice linear delivery, less mechanical grip, progressive breakaway. Not in the 1M. Wound on lock, eased the throttle in second at low revs, torque hit and... I think I'm going to like this car, but by god will I have to get to know it... |

interesting article... I like Sam Smith's articles and writing style... I would bet the coffee spilling is actually not even true... but it gets your attention.

As I said once in my M3 when asked "do you know how fast you were going?" "Unfortunately, officer I do. Sometimes this car just takes control." His answer was "where do you live? Go home little lady and don't drive anymore today." I did This really happened the first day I had my e46 M3. holly |

Sam Smith cracks me up. I'm glad he came back to Roundel. This one made me truly laugh out loud. I think he's making an attempt to open some eyes to the beauty of the 1M. I've been disappointed by the otherwise relatively tepid reviews of the Roundel staff for the 1SMC. This month's issue already featured a negative letter to the editor about the 1M. Sheesh. Fault finders find fault even in paradise.

It'll still work when you're in your 60's, you may just have to unzip the zipper all the way down to your belt buckle to get the same effect.
