Going to replace rear tires 20K miles question

So Im going to replace the rear tires of my beloved 2016 M3, I own it for two almost two years now and I have 20K miles

Do I need wheel alignment? They are charging $130 + $80 for the tire replacement (got the new tires online)

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated since Im replacing them today in the afternoon

You shouldn't need an alignment.

You don't need an alignment unless you have uneven tire wear or pulling to one side.

The front tires were eating the outside edges more than it should

So I got a discount, rear tires replacement + all 4 wheels alignment + Disposal and taxes = $200

I think it was not that bad of deal since I saved $300 by buying the tires online instead thru the dealer

It is in no way necessary to have an alignment done when tires are replaced.

However, it is a good practice to get the car aligned at a regular interval to ensure everything is up to snuff. I get mine done in late spring, right after pothole season and just before the track season starts. I also recommend getting a "good" alignment done in a shop that will take the time to go back and forth between setting to get all the parameters as close to nominal as possible and not just within tolerance. The factory tolerances on the F8X are quite wide and a good alignment makes a significant difference on how well planted the car feels.

I've seen the cars come from factory with uneven camber / toe specs.. At 20k, I'd say the investment for an alignment is worth the pay out in saved tires, although you did get 20k out of the set. Although I am on the 3rd alignment in 5k miles, so maybe I'm a little OCD (but I did go from OEM > Swifts > Bilstein PSS10).

Guys my tires were about dane at 17 K but then I had no time to replace them, so I was very careful to drive the car and I got up to 20K

In a real world 20K out of a tire is horrible, here it is a miracle, LOL

I'm at 18K and tires are in good condition. I do mountain runs almost every weekend but this puts a lot of stress on my front tires (lots of tight turns, no time to light up the rear tires).

Even I'm at the point where I might need to step out of my daily MDM mode. 18k is great but I feel like maybe I'm granny driving.
