This may have been asked before but has anyone had any trouble with their cameras malfunctioning?
I suppose I have noticed intermittent issues for a while, but now I am getting a constant error when putting the car in reverse or activating the side cameras. Ironically, the cameras seem to work OK, certainly the rear view camera. The side cameras operate for a second and then the screen goes black.

Loose wire?? I guess I should return it to the dealer to get it checked out.

Good luck James, I have had the same problems for a year, been in 6-7 times, the dealer has replaced cameras, cleaned connectors and updated software. I still get the rear and side view camera malfunctions. I now am also getting collision warning malfunction and blind spot detection malfunctions...looks like a short or bad comnnection someware, I am not at all impressed...

It's usually the front right side camera plus harness which needs to be replaced. Known problem.

My car is in again for this problem, constant Rear and side view camera malfunctions, we will see, they already replacedthefender camera, cleaned various connectors and updated software. We will see if they can finally solve these problems...
The dealer calledme. After 5 days, they had to order a "tool" to be able to troubleshoot all of the malfunctions I have had. 8 days later, no word on my car, well on a positive note, they gave me a 2015 X5 for a loaner, and the cameras on it work great!
