Invoice deal is what BMW sells it for (in theory), anything above Invoice is what dealer makes.. So in the end, BMW gets what it wants for it, and it is able to sell. The only thing I can say is that BMW is possibly compensating dealers for good sales numbers, which is why many dealers are willing to go that low. After all, invoice price of X5 is a lot more attractive then invoice price of 3 series when compared against MSRP, or at least the illusion of it.

There is always trunk money, whether in "marketing support" or other terms from corp. "We're taking a loss on this deal!" is the tried and true line we always hear from dealers, right?
