I want to upgrade...
I have been reading a lot of price posts, etc. and it seems like i didnt get the best deal. i was happy with it at first. it was a better deal then another BMW dealership was gonna give me. but it doesnt seem great. Soooo, i got to thinking, maybe i could upgrade my car to the 530 that i really wanted, and not spend a CRAZY amount more money then im spending now. I KNOW (please dont focus on this) that when you lease, you are pretty much locked into that car for the lease, but does bmw have any plans where you can go from one bmw to another, a little more easily? any suggestions?
By the way, i have a 06 325 with leatherette,auto,navi,xenons,power/heated seats, bmw assist, and probably something else im forgetting. on a 2 year lease, 10k miles/year 1,400 dollars TOTAL down, i pay 560/month, thats including taxes.

You should get those thoughts out of your head right now and enjoy your bimmer for two years.

hmm, i get what you're saying. if you want something else and are not happy with your current deal, you want the new one yesterday. i'm the same way.
why don't you simply pop in to talk to your SA and see what he has to offer. i'm sure you'd be loosing some money and pay some more to upgrade to a 530, but it never hurts to ask. at least you'll know where you stand.

I agree. It's only 2 years. It's not like you own the car. :-)
In 2 years time, you might even want the 335i coupe? Do you really need the space of a 5? It's a big car, and you lose alot of the sporty appeal and drive characteristics of the 3. |

yea, i want the 5. i dont have people in my backseats too often, but anytime i do they complain. I PERSONALLY like the look of the 5 a little bit more. plus i feel like im paying a lot for my 3. i called both bmw dealerships. the SA i bought the car from said i would be killing myself to try to upgrade. and the other bmw dealership that never got my business, said its very very possible(cause he wants my business) but when i told him my options and payment, and down payment, he said i got a great deal. and i dont see why he would lie.... so i guess im gonna hold out for another year. see whats going on then. thanks though everyone!

Give it a try. If i had the money I definitely would. I was honestly thinking of trading in my car for a used E320 or E500, cause used they are around 33K-37K

Is it just me or is the whole "roominess" of the 5 vs. the 3 a misconception? The 5 is a bigger car in terms of overall size, but according to BMW's website, the interior space is negligible.
Go to http://www.bmwusa.com/Vehicles/3/200...an/Compare.htm to compare the 330 with the 530 and this is what shows up: Rear Headroom 330: 37.4" 530: 37.7" Rear Legroom 330: 34.6" 530: 36" Rear Shoulderroom 330: 55.1" 530 57.2" The front headroom and legroom are virtually the same too. Are you telling me it's worth it to give up all that sportiness and pay over $10k more for less than 2" of legroom and headroom? That makes no sense to me. It's one thing if you just like the look of the 5 better or something, but you may be disappointed if you're looking for "roominess" |

wow. i admit. i never compared the numbers on the site. that is very interesting. i just ASSUMED the 5 would be more roomier. we all know what happens when you assume. thanks alot for point that out!

I will tell straight up, there is more room in the 5 than the 3. The biggest difference is the width of the back. I can have the front seat in my personal driving position, im 6ft. and then sit in the back and my knees wont touch the front seat. The way the 5series back seats are positioned also makes a difference. They are flatter than the 3series seats

I only know this because I had assumed the SAME THING just a few weeks ago. So I went to the site and looked it up. I like the way the 5 looks actually, but I'm having a hard time justifying the price difference for less sportiness and negligible roominess.

The 530 is $10k more expensive and has the EXACT SAME ENGINE. I'm not paying $10k for 6.4 cu. ft. of cargo space. |

I would definitely advise you to keep your car and consider a 5 series down the road when it gets a facelift and a new engine...

I say, if you like the 530 better, go for it! I hate paying for something I don't want. 2 years is a long time when you would rather have something else. It's only money, you don't live that long and you can't take any of it with you! Do it!

It makes no sense that if you're upset that you didn't get the best deal possible on your E90 that you would be willing to take a bath on the depreciation of it and trade right away for another more expensive car.
Looks like you just want to toss money around and trade and you're just looking for cheerleaders here.

i think you are missing the point led. i read all day long about people paying LESS money on a lease for their 330's... so i figured maybe if someone out there is giving these people good deals on 330's, i can find someone who wants to give me a good deal on a 530. hyptotehtically speaking, if i was paying 100 dollars more per month, then i really should be, then maybe i can find a 530 for 100 dollars more per month then what im paying now. and i would DEFINITLY roll into a 530 and tack on another 100 dollers per month and love it. but regardless of what all these people are paying on here, or how they calculated their lease. both local bmw dealerships are telling me i got a GOOD deal on my car. which makes my whole idea, pointless. so congrats to those people who got an even better deal then i did... maybe its location?
