Quite possibly the frst X3MC on the street in Italy
Ever since my M40i was stolen and totaled in the spring, I've been waiting for this beast to arrive. Well it finally landed at my local dealer on Thursday. Satellite antitheft device already installed and customs clearing Monday morning. After that it's ready for a full 360 PPF most of next week (sans roof) afterwhich I'll finally take official delivery. I swung by the dealer this morning and asked to see it as-is since I've never seen donnington grey in the flesh here. They gave me a sneak peek and let me fire it up with a cold start for effect. I'm stoked! Can't wait for Friday to get here. Taking it immediately from the dealer to the detailer to have the rims and side mirrors ceramic coated just in time for the weekend! Will post official first day pics in the appropriate thread this weekend. In the meantime, here's a small preview. Oh, and BTW, the CF internal trim is absolutely stunning. Very thick lacquer gives it an almost inverted 3D effect (depth).

Thanks for sharing the images, MrItaly - almost there! You're going to have such a good time with it, and hopefully can take it on the Autobahn after break-in!

I have a trip planned to Stuttgart next month for the holiday weekend. Not sure if I'll be able to hit 1200 by then, but I'm sure gonna try!

Thank you all. I've been following all of your deliveries in this forum which ended up just fanning the flames of impatience to receive mine. It has been a long wait, but by the looks of things, I'd say it was worth it.

Just got a call from the dealer with some unexpected bad news. Upon closer inspection while they were dropping it off for PPF, they noticed (I had missed this during my sneak peek on Saturday) that the shipping chain in transit had gouged one of the front tires and damaged the rim. They offered to swap all four tires and rims with an X4MC they had on their showroom floor. Only problem with that was the X4 had Conti's whereas mine had arrived with the Michellins. While they could get a new rim by the end of the week, they said it would take a month to get another Michellin like mine. Odd. Anyway, I really didn't want the Conti's since I got lucky and was looking forward to experiencing the Pilot Sports so many of you rave about. So, it was a good thing I had already ordered and received the OEM sized Pirrelli Scorpion winters a week ago. Tomorrow is the first day of October. I was going to have to swap the summers in a month anyway, so we're just gonna bump that up to this week and solve this problem. They're also swapping my damaged rim with the X4M so they can make me good for my Friday delivery with Saturday appointment to get the rims ceramic coated. Hopefully those Scorpions will perform decently even if the weather here is only just starting to cool off. At least I'll have brand new Pilot Sports to mount next Spring!

Getting the rims, calipers, and air box ceramic coated this weekend. Detailer sent me a few pics of the progress. I love how Donnington Grey changes based on the lighting....

Yes, sorry. I posted in the official first day thread once I took delivery after the 360 ppf was complete. I forgot to come back here and update this thread too. 360 PPF looks goooood. Installer did a phenomenal job. Took my first rain last week too with ppf. Amazing how hydrophobic that Lumar film is. Water jumped off my car and left it relatively unscathed dirt wise. The windows showed more water spots afterwards than the body did. DMG probably played a role in that too. Now that the rims are ceramiced as well, I should have a low maintenance daily now. Which is good that I'll save money on car washes, since I'm gonna need it for gas apparently. I'm averaging 10mpg, and I'm still breaking her in.

I have to admit, though, the sound without the opf filter is sublime. Even though I'm fully debadged, I still get called out for being an M just by hearing my exhaust.
