Never ending issues !

1 month after replacing HPFP and expansion tank. I see today low level coolant light. No obvious trace of coolant leak.

2 days ago i had a code for rail pressure sensor short or open circuit. ( This one i think i figured after getting all plastics out found some moisture there on top of connector after car wash..code was intermittent. I put a heat shrink around the entire connector have not seen the code since.

I am waiting for the day when i can go 1 month without some type of issue.

Car has 63k just absolutely disgusting

When was your last coolant flush? Check your exhaust when you start the car up and lightly smell the fumes, see if it's bluish/white. Knock on wood, but it might be head gasket as to the coolant? Seems low mileage for that to be the issue though, only thing I can think of off the top of my head given you are confident that you inspected the radiator and other coolant lines.

Might just be some cracked/hardened hoses seeping a bit. At least when my car was having coolant issues it was just the radiator that needed to be patched up.

Coolant Flush was done 20k ago when i got a new water pump and thermostat.

After checking the level when cold it was just down to min from max so i added just a little bit of coolant mix and now its fine.

Trying not to spend too much time with this car anymore i spent so much money and time..

Might put it for sale in spring. Its just too much. ITs like a high maintenance woman. The woman that performs great in bed but breaks ur bank and u cant have a family with LOL.

My Elantra is my Amish wife. She takes care of me but its very bad in bed lol

Gotta find another mistress car. That breaks the bank less.

This is why I did my water pump at the bmw dealership. Shops wanted $800 to $1000 labor/parts. Dealership was $1400 with a lifetime warranty on the pump/labor.

I knew before hand that the water pump/thermostats on our E90 cars are unreliable, by design, and at best last 50k to 60k in the car for every replacement.

So I figured pay more money once to have it replaced with legitimate BMW parts and get free replacements, every time the shitty unit fails, for the lifetime of the car

Yes thats an option. I typical do everything myself and get parts from FCP euro with lifetime warranty no questions asked. Once u replace it once u can do any of these repairs with your eyes closed.

They really offer a lifetime warranty on the repair and the waterpump? I haven't seen anyone else post this option before. Typical warranty on any repair is 1-2 years (or less).

Yeah.

And is it really lifetime replacement on his replacement aswell? Must be just the 1st replacement.

The only option at this point is part out! Do you have sport seats?

Damn, that sucks. It's rough when a bunch of major stuff goes wrong within the same time frame/mileage. Try to stick with it. It definitely hurts the wallet and patience with this car when stuff goes wrong at the same time.

But once you get past many of the initial "low mileage" issues (hpfp, expansion tank, radiator, injectors, oil leaks from every damn gasket, etc.) it becomes 'relatively' reliable and requires more of just normal maintenance (which btw is still way more frequent than most other cars).

Service Advisor said it was lifetime of the car for replacement of future water pumps parts and labor. I'm 100% sure. I even joked if he meant my lifetime and he reiterated lifetime of the car. He said this was because the water pump on the MY 2011 N55 in the 3 Series typically lasts 50k to 60k miles (early and premature failure) so I would be back in about 4-5 years for a new water pump.

That said my car had an extended warranty that just expired and they were replacing the original factory water pump not an aftermarket water pump. So your car's service history may affect what your dealership would tell you.

At the Indy shop having my water pump replaced. Hey, I keep telling myself it's cheaper to fix the car I enjoy, Than a monthly car payment. 2008 E90 76,000 miles. I baby the car, and I'm always on top of the maintenance. Plan to keep it for a very long time.

I hope you got that in writing because every BMW dealership I know is 2 years and 12k miles for warranty on parts and labor.

Sorry about your issues bro. Hope you get it worked out.
Bought my 2010 E92 335i brand new. Just over 108,000+ on the odo now.
Have a good trusted Indy mechanic who I go to keep my ride well maintained at the regular service intervals.
Besides the typical minor wear and tear items that go through the years, I haven’t had any of the myriad of issues others have frequently posted on this site other than the oil leaks (i.e. VCG, OFHG) and the LPFP replacement which my Indy mechanic took care of.

Omg haha this happened to me yesterday and I had to comment on your reply.

So true, was able to actually floor it yesterday since I let it idle for some time after driving to get the oil up to bowl off some condensation and it was like 3 celcius no snow. Just the feeling when it pulls wow.

Man I cannot wait until summer. Even my sunroof was open yesterday
