I like the new changes to the grill and bumper ... what I dont like is the potential exhaust noise and the lack of color I'm interested in. if it were available in Mineral Grey I would be All Over this car. I'm potentially taking my money to a different brand. We need a white and a pearly white? Scarey part is, we won't see the HS in person until we take delivery. :
No mal intent intended, but I am not old enough to drive a Sunset Orange car... it's a VERY BLAND orange imho, white, offwhite, black, and teal aren't that much better luckily it can be wrapped... but that's 5k that could be put into spare track wheels and tires. OR carbon fiber roof and powerdome hood.

Alpine white is going to be available.

Edit: I see, you think the two colors are too similar.

I wish there was another logical abbreviation other than SO. SO will first and foremost be Sakhir Orange to me. Maybe this should be SUO.

This car should have been offered in Sakhir instead of Sunset.

You want orange/red? Well here is more of a mind f*ck. This is Sunset Orange indoors and low light. Sunset Orange could possibly change shades as much as Hockenheim Silver.

Can't say I would choose this colour. I would stick with LBB given the list of options for the M2C. It is a shame they don't have the individual program in Leipzig. I would prob go with LSB or SMB if they did.

Doesn’t matter the car in the photo is dirty. Sunset Orange will look like what’s in the photos 95% of the time. It’s a pretty much what you see is what you get in real type of colour.

I much prefer the colour tone of Valencia Orange than this brownish red tone of SO

Don't forget the 4 series convertible

Sunset orange is not a "special color". What makes you believe it to be ?

The same happened with Valencia orange on the 1M, it was on everything from mini to 128 to X1. Valencia orange was a 1M launch color... sunset orange doesn't even get that billing as HS is the M2 comp launch color.

all three colors on the 1M were not " special"

Alpine white , BSM continue from the 1M on to the M2 along with MG, as non " special" colors.

Heck .. LBB Has been on other cars including the X3M40 I think, but perhaps it has only been on M cars.

Since there is an established precedent... is there a reason to protest so greatly ?

I wouldn't anticipate HS to be limited in what it appears on either ... its likely to simply be the FIRST vehicle it appears on.

LBB I believe has only been on X5M, X6M, M2(I could be wrong). The blue for the X3 M40i is a different blue.

HS is the “exclusive” or “launch” color. They simply added Sunset Orange to match the orange stitching, because it was already conveniently in Leipzig factory for other vehicles.

The X4 M40i was available in Long Beach Blue.

BMW stated last year they are upgrading the paint shop in Leipzig: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/afric...ig?language=en

Does that include capacity for Individual colors? Fingers crossed...

I actually saw an LBB X4 (that's what it was !) on the street last week in Irving. texas.. I saw it making a left turn in front of me and I recognized the LBB paint more than the vehicle rear..

@blackJetE90

While HS is the M2 competition " launch color"... I do not think you should expect it to be exclusive at all..... just as LBB for the M2 and Valencia orange for the 1M were launch colors, that were anything but exclusive.

Agree with ChrisK. For some reason, I like LBB only on M2. I saw it on M3, M4, X4, X5M and X6M but none of them carried it as good as M2.

Guess I’m in the minority - I kind of dig the SO with the 437 wheels. And not really a big fan of this color on other BMWs.
