I'm with you, the front end changes just don't quite do it justice...

I'm curious why they took away so much of the ambient lights. Granted, there is this section on the dash now but I really liked the 'waterfall'-effect on mine. It seems they removed that entire light-strip.

i don't think the headlights are horrible but most of the photos are of darker colors and the headlamp area looks smoked/blended in. but when i used the configurator to build a mineral white M60i, the new split headlights looked pretty awful and stuck out like a sore thumb too much jeep cherokee for me. i could probably live with a black LCI X7, but the white would be a no-go.

and i like really love my blingy crystal glass shifter with the illuminated X in there. that gets a lot of looks/comments from passengers because it's so unique (and blingy )

Exactly my thought, which is why when I saw the render with split headlights earlier this year, I rushed to order a 2022 X7. I'm super happy with my pre-LCI that looks and drives awesome.

The LCI's crazy front end and deletion of console buttons are the biggest turn-off for me.

Consider yourself lost forever. All those physical buttons are no more. Kills me as well. I've got a 2020 X7 and use the programmable buttons every time I get in the car.

I've been leasing BMW X cars since the first X6 came out in 2008 or so. Every 2.5 to 3 years, I get a new one. My last two have been X5Ms and they have changed my life forever, lol. OMG I love driving this vehicle!

My current lease is up 3/23, so I plan to order a pre LCI X5MC in the fall. Hopefully the B&W sound system will be back by then.

This time I'm buying it and driving it 'til I get my buttons back. LMAO

Honestly, my next BMW may end up being my last. If I'm gonna have to live with touch screens, I'd much prefer my wife's Range Rover Sport's ergonomics with it's lower positioned second touch screen to what BMW has planned.

100% agree!!!! The loss of the shifter and the split headlights were the turn offs for me. I went ahead and ordered a pre-LCI X7 M50i. Week 21 Build.

Awesome! You're gonna love your X7. I'm in love with mine even though in my heart it'll never replace the F80 that I sold earlier this year. The F80 was just too special…

Don't forget to get DHP for your build. It really makes a large X7 drive like a sedan. The body roll was controlled so well on a highway ramp that I couldn't believe I was driving a 5600 lbs SUV.

Thank you! Yep, I am getting the DHP. This forum has been amazing in helping me shape my build.
BTW, I have a G80 on order, one of the few people still waiting for a VIN since an Oct allocation. We live in crazy times!

As soon as I saw they were using customer data to design new features, I knew the 8 buttons were gone for good. Clearly we are in the minority of users. It's not a deal breaker, but definitely annoying!

I think the LCI might have the DHP option on the 40i. Will be interesting to see the order guide.

Exactly…..they not only removed that ambient lighting strip but then added that trash on the dash. Some arrows? WTF. What cars even have that? What were they thinking doing that?

There is no DHP for the MY2022 40i, correct? The HK stereo doesn't appear on the BMWUSA site, but dealers can add it to the order on their end. Wasn't sure if that is the same case for the DHP or if it is not an option at all. Haven't asked the CA yet, but thought I would ask the community first.

Debating if I wait it out for the LCI to get the DHP.

You can get dhp on 50i 2022
I would wait 30 to 45 days for the 2023 order guide
Dhp and b&w has been available previously on 40i builds.

Based on the posts on the forum, it looks like they took out DHP for the current model year even though it was originally in the order guide. I am not aware of a dealer entry option but happy to be corrected.

The 2023 Canadian order guide does have DHP as an option for the 40i, although that does not mean the US one will. It might also depend on parts availability.

Is it normal now to pay $5000 over Msrp for a pre order for the new 2023 x7 m60i? I am in Westcoast and contacted 2 dealer so far and both ask for $5000 over Msrp. If anyone know of a dealer willing to take pre order for Msrp with deposit please let me know.

I would reach out to more than just 2 dealers. My dealer in Chicagoland is taking names for the LCI at MSRP. But I also have another car on order with them so not sure if that makes a difference.
