If I were in the market for that typr of car I would either go for the RRS or a Porsche Panamera. Not everyone's cup of tea but they drive incredibly well!

Have to say the F-type R is the best new car I've been in over the last few years. Great looks, performance and ride/handling balance. If you are tempted though make sure and spec the panoramic roof and the aluminium gearshift paddles (the standard ones feel cheap)

Would be good if we could pick up our cars from Germany, although any thought of a leisurely 1200 miles break in period would go out the window lol. The Americans definitely get more of the BMW experience. Have been with someone picking up a Viper and they had similar treatment, including the obligatory 'this is how you drive the car' part. |

Happycow... an RS6 really isn't going to feel like the special retirement car!
If you must buy new, and want something fast but "practical" then really can't see past a new 911. It's fast, you can have back seats (for really small people and luggage), you can have it in 4WD to suit your Welsh winters, you can have it in coupe, convertible, targa forms, you can have manual or paddles... however you want it, they can provide it. Depends what you really meant by practical?! If you want to stick with BMW then can't really see any alternative to either an M6 or M6 GC. But they are just so large on the UK roads. You could get a PCP independently on a car up to 2 or 3 years old (max age of car at end of term is 6 years old), which brings in all sorts of cars potentially- Astons, Merc SLS, R8...

M6 Gran coupe or if you don't want the fuel bill then the 640d. Stunning, fast, frugal, desirable, luxurious inside. Really want one. Then again little can beat my discovery so I'd really think about a range rover too

I like the range rover, engine wise the triple turbo in the m50d is nice, but its hard to like the shape etc.
Just trying to find a balance between performance and economy,m6 seem to depreciate at quite a heavy rate. |

Advantage of a Jaguar garage beside work Edit: Yes the Jag will, however I believe it will hold it's price better and for longer. Of the two, the jag r wins hands down. |
