Kevin's BSM F30 335i Build
I bought my F30 in October as a birthday and graduation present to myself. My old car was a Honda which I miss dearly every time I have to fill up my F30. This winter has been brutal lately here in NYC, but I've been harboring parts to install once it gets warm out. I figured I would start a build thread to document and share my own progress.
Car Specs: Black Sapphire Metallic 335i Luxury Line RWD 6 Speed MT Saddle Brown Leather Cold Weather Package Comfort Access Package Adaptive Lighting Package Navi with HUD Before the winter started, I did some coding and installed my BMS Intake. First, to pay homage to my past, this was my last car. Enough of that though...when I first brought the F30 home. With winter approaching in the northeast, I had to get my car ready for winter. I put on a nice coat of Collinite 845 wax and got a set of 17x8 wheels, covered in 225/55 Blizzak WS-70s. After somewhat of a dry winter, NYC had a blizzard dumping 30" of snow on us and I couldn't wait to test out the winter setup. This was my first RWD car and everyone told me I wouldn't be able to move at all in the winter...These Blizzak's proved them wrong! I've got a plethora of parts to be installed once it gets warmer out. For suspension, I went with KW V1's. Since no car is ever fast enough, I picked up a JB4 and BMS Data Cable. With the added boost from the JB4 once it's installed, I wouldn't want the stock charge pipe to leave me stranded so I picked up an Evolution Racewerks Chargepipe...I just finished polishing this today. I'm loving the results. More to come, once it gets warmer out. Update 2/29/16 Yesterday peaked just around 60 degrees here in NYC and I had to take advantage of it. I had a few parts that were top secret until yesterday. First, I couldn't stand the chrome kidney grills. They ruined the entire look of the front end, so I picked up a set of dual slat gloss black grills. Since I first saw these wheels, I loved them so I had to pick them up...437M style wheels in black. I also got some goodies from BMS...My OBDII harness for my JB4, and my clutch stop. Shifts feel a lot better now with the reduction in clutch travel. After a long day's work and the help of a few buddies, these are the results. Really loving the new setup. I was never a fan of the chrome trim, but I think the KW's, wheels, and front grills really make the remaining chrome trim look much better than before...As well as the front bumper which I thought was ugly compared to the MSport one, until now. Hopefully soon we get some more warm weather and I have some free time to install go fast parts. Update 3/26/16 Small update here. Not much has changed since my last post. I got an alignment after my suspension install and the car drives much better now...Still haven't gotten around to installing my charge pipe yet. A good buddy of mine just picked up his 2016 F80. Can't wait to do a shoot together. Last edited by mr_kay; 03-26-2016 at 06:56 PM.. |

Wow - looks top-notch with the 437M wheels! Nice! Are those OEM or replicas? Not sure if it is just the tire size you used but they look like they are 20" diameter (the wheel style tends to 'look large' regardless).
