Help with correct mirror part#

Can someone point me in the direction as to which mirror glass I need?

I bought what is clearly the wrong one, and mine doesn't have the black border around it. What's the difference between them? What is shadowline, what is high gloss line? I dont want to try and take the cracked one off to get the part number in case it completely breaks and cant put it back on.

Car is a 2017 340i M sport

BMW did some cost-cutting and eliminated auto dimming-mirrors feature on the passenger side, some time around 2016 MY and beyond.

The mirror with the black boarder is an auto-dimming electrochromic version, you obviously don't need it.

Would this be the correct one do you know?

This would certainly work but you might need the heated version but not auto dimming.

That's the plain standard mirror, you would lose the "heated" mirror option, if they didn't also eliminate that.

Could you pop off the old mirror and see if there is a connection harness on the back. That would confirm it's still heated.

Sorry it's so confusing, blame BMW.

Edit: This is part number I'm getting when I look up your vehicle: 51167345682

It definitely still has the wires going into the back of it. I should have taken a picture of the back when it was off, but I thought I bought the right one to begin with so didnt think to.

The part number I linked before shows that it is in fact heated. It's just not labeled as such on the ECS website.

Here's another link to the same part #:

Oh, ok, well since the one you linked is heated, then it would work perfectly.

Do you have auto-dip mirrors?

Do you have Shadowline? Appears you do not based on not having the border on your mirrors.

The mirrors with the black borders are the Shadowline Versions.

Non-Shadowline does not have the black plastic borders.

What are the last 7 digits of your VIN?

In case this may help anyone in the future, the part I ordered was correct this time.

The drivers side is auto dim, the passenger side was not auto dim. I believe I have the Shadowline (gloss black trim around everything?)

last 7 of VIN is K777292

For 2017 LCI 340i, the part number I see for your car is 51167441036, which has S430A (auto-dip), it will be expensive than the mirror with no auto-dip. I was able to find the cheapest one for my car on eBay, the version with no plastic on the outside is cheaper than the one with plastic. Apart from the plastic of the mirror that you already bought, is the size matching with the one on your car? It might be the same size, take out the broken mirror and match it with the one you got, it might fit, if you don't mind one side with plastic, nobody sees them both at the same time so it shouldn't be a big deal, or for now better than driving around with a broken mirror. For my car, some variants came with plastic and some without, no difference apart from that.
51167285004 has no auto-dip, you can get it if you don't want the auto-dip feature, that's why it's just $100.

I see this part number(51167345682) is for cars from 12/2012 to 07/2016, I don't see it having auto-dip. OP has the auto-dip feature - S430A. Realoem shows he needs 51167441036, parts with auto-dip will all be in the same price range.

Crazy how many different mirror combinations there are for these things.

They were both the same size, and would have fit. I just didnt want one side with the surround and the other without. There was also another plug on the back side aside from the heating elements that my stock one didnt have. Not sure what that was for, the auto dip?

The mirror I got (51167285004) matched up perfectly to the original one. There's was no bluish tint on the stock passenger side mirror like the drivers side that would indicate auto dip if I'm understanding it correctly.

So yours had only one plug? Strange, when I replaced my driver side mirror it had two, I believe one was for the heating element and the other was auto-dip, not sure though. Also, your VIN lookup showed you have auto-dip.

It just had the 2 heating element wires like in the first picture.

The mirror with the black surround trim had another plug like in the second picture for something, which I would assume is the auto dip? Not sure though either. My stock mirror did not have that plug.

It seems like you didn't have the auto -dip feature but the vin lookup showed you did, haha, I've no clue now, maybe the newer ones have integrated the connectors, you did not notice any unplugged wire?

Yeah I'm not sure, the guy in the 2nd post said BMW did some cost cutting measures on 2016+ and eliminated auto dip from the passenger side so maybe that's it. Like I said, my drivers side has the auto dimming mirror

Yeah, that seems to be the only plausible explanation. I'm pretty sure the third square connector is for auto-dip(they call auto-dimming as auto-dip). At first, I thought auto-dip is the mirror tilting down on reverse, lol.
