Seat Belt Chime chirp thing
Has anyone disabled the sensor for the seat belt warning. The passenger seat is really sensitive, my wife puts her purse in the seat and the chime goes off.

Yes, it can be disabled through programming. This was the first thing done on ours.

I hate that freagin seatbelt chime too!! Sat night the hot girly in my passenger seat took off her seatbelt to give me a little action on the car ride home, within seconds the annoying electronic nanny started chiming in as if to say "no no no hanky panky on this boston leather, absolutely not"
Thanks BMW for ruining my otherwise good night! |

No the thing is very sensitive - my work bag (even minus a laptop) sets the damn thing off. And no, I don't work in a nuclear reactor.

Why don't you just pull the connector where the sensor is under the seat and leave it open. Then it will never tigger. This is of course assuming it is a weight sensor-

And the seatbelt pre-tensioner won't fire off in an accident.

Anyone in southern Cal Orange County in particular can go to this company:
www.europeanautosource.com They have an Autologic Programmer/scan system. They can program the chime to be silent. |
