Why is fibroptix not making a sunroof edition? He just made the product a failure to his market by no sunroof option for the U.S. market.

actually i think it consists of numerous spot welds. That means you would need to have both your front and rear windshields removed, drill out a crap load of spot welds, then im guessing use some type of adhesive for the new roof ?

need details on the install... I'm pretty sure the roof is welded (spot or not) and not bolted. If price isn't astronomical I'd seriously consider this.

Other ideas for CF stuff
one piece CF drive shaft, the OEM shaft is 2pieces, but I think 1piece shaft should fit.
That Heavy Ass Plastic Cowl (the one held on by 2 bolt where the HVAC filter box is sitting on top of) in light weight CF. I think that crowl weights at least 20lb.

lol i highly doubt our roofs simply be "unbolted and replaced with theirs"
if it is anywhere near how the 335 coupes are then it is spot welded in and takes alot of work. do a search on e90 post i remember a montego showing pics of the install

Where in the world are you going to find someone with experience putting CF roofs on cars that weren't designed for them?

Personally I think you guys are crazy for even considering cutting the roof off a 1 Series and replacing it with a thin sheet of CF.

You dont cut off the roof, you remove the metal "skin" and replace it with a CF "skin".

Anyone have pricing or availability of a sunroofless headliner?

I understand that, but I still don't think it's a good idea.

yeah im pretty sure it will take awhile, when my friend got his evo done at ams they had his car for about a week, not a simple task..
here are some pictures of my friends evo and the work that they did

and here is the process that ams documented on there evox

so from the pictures you can tell it takes so time for anyone to do a carbon fiber top replacement

In all fairness, it looks like they are doing A LOT more than just replacing the roof!!

mm...no. sorry. call me crazy but the roof on a car is not something i would necessary be down to mess with. rain, elements, insulation, wind noise, structural integrity of the vehicle and the overall dynamics of the car under extreme conditions...not a list of things i'm willing to gamble on....just...just no.

I was shocked when I first pulled it off as well. I wonder if that thing is part of the crash protection?!
