On the contrary I feel the exact opposite way. I cringe when manufacturers do interior other than black and beige and then keep the center console in black. It makes the car feel cheap and low rent to me. Seriously, a lot of cheaper models do that.

+1, dealer had one in Storm Bay on the showroom floor when I ordered mine, and it was really the only choice once I was actually looking at it in the flesh.

Couple of questions for you regarding the adaptive suspension;

How do the two different suspension settings compare?

I believe the ride height is raised 10mm compared to the standard suspension fitted to the M235i. Is this noticeable in the wheel arches particularly with the 18" wheels? My main concern with getting this option is both with the 18's and increased ride height the wheels look a bit small for the car.

Cheers.

According to my knowledge this is the first of its kind (customer car) in Finland, guess on Bimmerpost too(?). Optioned out with everything available, went for the adaptive suspension, hence the 18" wheels.

I was hesitant ordering this back in December since the press images weren't that great, in some of the photos it didn't look too sharp but then again in some pictures I really liked the look, especially those promo pictures of the black M-Performance model. So I ended up ordering the car and chose black sapphire metallic. When I first saw one in flesh at the dealer in late January I was really happy with my choice and felt a little relieved since there really were not that many photos or videos available at the time, even less so with the black color. My least favorite angle is the side profile but I wouldn't say it's bad. Contrary to many I actually think the best part of this car is the rear, maybe the color does it..

The car is a little grimy in some of the pictures because of course the weather had to suck balls when I picked it up.

Did your car come with a staggered wheel setup? If so, what were the tire sizes for the rear wheels?

I am a little confused. Your signature says united States but the car has European plates.

I dont think the F44 comes with a staggered setup. At least not in the US, but i haven't seen the config in other markets.

Some interesting info from my research:

the 18" wheel while looking nicer, only come in a 225 section.

the 19" (1RR) option code, come with 235 section SQ tires.
- More interestingly though, choosing these tires is the only way to get option 840 (increased top speed limiter) in the M235i.

You have to get deep into the options guide to find this info, very easy to miss. Especially sad if you live in Germany.

Sorry I'm a little late with the reply. I have the adaptive suspension and I have yet to see a 2GC with the fixed M Sport suspension, thus I can only speak on behalf of the adaptive suspension + 18" wheels combo which I have.

From the equipment description of the adaptive suspension:

Notes:
- for M235i: specific tuning with suspension lowered 10 mm

As far as I understand, both the M Sport suspension and the adaptive suspension come lowered 10 mm, for the M235i. The wheels are limited to 18" with the adaptive suspension, but I have not found myself visually wanting bigger wheels, but this of course is personal preference. I would highly recommend getting the adaptive suspension, at least judging by the difference between comfort and sport suspension setting on the adaptive option - the sporty suspension is quite stiff and depending on where you live, it might get annoying real quick to have no option of softening the setup.

Haha, my signature should say Finland.. At least it does for me. The plates are Finnish, so they are EU-plates indeed.

No staggered setup on the car I ordered. Somewhat related: in hindsight I would preferably spec the performance tires since the Bridgestone Turanzas the car came with are pretty awful when pushing the car at all..

It's a very simple install, it's just the top face of the button which is installed with adhesive. Nobody has noticed it's just installed on top of the OEM button lol.

This is the one I got.

I have test driven a m235 today, two questions in my mind:-
(i) i can't find any sport plus mode in it, do you have that in your car?
(ii) I find the new suspension (normal m sport suspension on the demo car) quite satisfying with good balance of comfort and stiffness, how is your comment on your adaptative m suspension?

Hello there mingming,

(i) there is no Sport Plus mode like on some of the bigger BMW brothers. For "sport" there are only the Sport and Sport Individual modes..
(ii) I haven't driven the standard suspension, but the value proposition for me in the adaptive suspension is well, the adaptive part. At least in a country like Finland where road surfaces vary a lot, having the option to change the damper response is a godsent. Rarely do I drive on the sportier setting, my most used drive mode is Sport Individual where I have the sport settings except for the suspension - mainly due to road surface quality. Then again, the comfort setting is too loose for certain situations. I would guess the fixed suspension is somewhere in the middle of these adaptive settings. Depending on where you live it might not make as much of a difference (?)
