If your driving with this vehicle mainly consist of small trips in town, you should get the hybrid of the 3-series, since you might be able to do those trips solely driving on electricity.

FYI: I had a loaner hybrid 3 series. Everytime you opened the driver's side door the car turned off. I could not return it to the dealer fast enough.

Why wouldn't it be? That is what the petrol-engine is for.

Garage List
For what its worth, my wife has a 2021 FWD 228i GC and absolutely loves driving it. It handles well, the interior is well appointed, the seats are comfortable, she loves the panoramic moonroof and trunk is really spacious.

She has had the car for 2.5 years and it has been totally reliable. We have taken long road trips at high speeds and have averaged in the 43-45 mpg range while in in Eco mode.
