Oh yeah these love the cold weather. Last nite a friend took mine for a cruise in 34 deg weather and loved it (and he drives a 420wheel n54). He also agrees that the AA takes the 340 to a new level. Perfect daily!!!! (Other than a 911 turbo pdk)

Mine arrived yesterday, install was easy (just be careful when plugging the connectors together. The crank position connector can be connected upside down -- don't ask why I know this. )

I do have one giant complaint though. With winter tires (and x-drive), I can't utilize all the power! That aggressive 2-3 shift on the 8AT goes into full throttle cut mode. So I'm eagerly waiting for the summer slicks to go back on.

Or maybe this is my validation for LSD. LOL.

Enjoy new found power!

I'm actually utilize all the power with my run-flats (cant complain and wont change them until May) .. with no snow yet, of course with low 40s- mid 50s temps

After logging another week on this tune, no real complaints. At 2500RPM+ and 1/2+ throttle, you can really feel the boost build over the stock car. Really nice for those sprints off the line.

It's mainly that 2-3 shift in sport mode that it breaks loose. If you get off the gas a bit before you shift, then it's fine. That shift was really aggressive in stock mode, so it's no wonder that 90ftlbs of extra torque would break the tires loose.

Yes it will work with other mods

Only thing to note is that if you add catless downpipe, this tune will not hide the CEL code

What is everybody using for datalogging?

Can boost be accurately datalogged, too?

No way to data log with AA tune only jb4 and tablet/phone

This is why im considering getting the jb4, don't get me wrong the AA tune works great. But when I purchased it I didn't think I'd want to mess with logging and try to squeeze more out of the b58. But it turns out I might want to run meth injection.

Then how is AA datalogging during their development and testing?

If they're only datalogging prior to installing their product and assuming everything is the same afterwards, that is a really bad call. Only checking boost and AFR on a dyno after installing a tune is NOT sufficient, in my book.

I would definitely not purchase this product if I wasn't able to datalog my own vehicle after installing.

They monitor and log it with other tools. You can't datalog it like the JB4. It's essentially a more aggressive DINANtronics. Set and forget for majority of users. Good product for what it is.

There are other ways to datalog without using the JB4, JB4 is the only tune with the datalog feature included

I'm sure during development they used a wideband to build their map. I highly doubt AA would put out a tune that's aggressive. This is why jb4 has an advantage where it's not a canned tune and can constantly improve as the b58 knowledge grows.

I'm really not trying to be a pain in the ass, but I have had a JB4 on my 2007 E90 N54 for 120,000 miles. I datalog the crap out of it for piece of mind, and also because these cars are so finicky with fueling, etc. I have also used Torque, DashCommand, SCT, Diablosport, and more, for datalogging on various vehicles.

If Active Autowerke cannot show datalogs with their product installed, or their own customers can't figure out a way to post logs, I have zero confidence installing their product in my brand new F36 440i. That's just me, I really don't care what others do to their cars.

It looks like a nice product, and I know their other products are very high quality based on lots of customer reviews, etc. Not trying to flame or bash any company or any user. Just trying to figure out why no one can answer my question.

I understand completely, I also used Sct, Aed, Lund and so on. Honestly normally I wouldn't run a canned tune but AA came highly recommended to me and I ran bms power box on my wife's n52 and am running apr stage 1 on her current car. Neither of which are able to log. Never had a issue before. But I'd like to squeeze a bit more out this monster and jb4 appears to be the only answer at this time.

Just get the jb4 then it's far more superior than when looking for more than a tune. Datalog, clearing code, turn off CEL for competition dp's, meth integration,... both products are the same in terms of power. It's a piggyback, they can only alter so much.

Both options look to be the best solutions out there. I've never been a fan of Dinan products, but not being able to datalog would make me rule out AA, as well.

Just trying to be a little safer and more conservative as I get older. I've already been through the process of blowing an engine on a brand new vehicle, and it's not very fun.

I'll probably sit on the sidelines and see how these products pan out for as long as I can. Easier said than done.
