Don't forget, arch rival Mercedees has an old model competing with the E9x. No competition. The new C class due out later this year will hurt BMW no doubt and BMW will try to counter act with even more sweetners.

Hmm, my opinion: More recently, Aussies have come into "new money", especially from house equity. People are spending much more money on cars now than even 5 years ago and hence sales of prestige cars are going up (especially in cashed up places like Sydney).

Agree about the BMW sweetners - they do that very well indeed.

Update: Well, I managed to sell my E90 but the sunroof was definately something people wanted. As someone said earlier on the post, it's definately something to option, if you are interested in resale a year or 3 down the line.

You are 100% correct. Any BMW dealer will tell you a sunroof is very important to resale with BMWs. I have one and use it only to let out hot air after being parked in the sun. I like to listen to music and would hate for other people to hear my “daggy” taste.

lol ok i am odd then we live in australia, we have beautiful weather... it is getting towards winter now, and i had teh roof down yesterday, cos it was so beautiful!

i used to always drive my old car with the sunroof open

ahh, and there is always going to be someone that doesn't like your music

but i can't argue with the resale value with a sunroof

Spoke to my dealer about this observation the other day - my sales rep was just made sales manager so I guess he's doing something right!

Anyway, he sort of smirked when I mentioned SRs being beneficial. They basically spec all demo cars with SRs and (of course) met paint; nothing else.
