2021 218i engine
Hi,
My wife has a new 218i GC and a ~2017 X1 18i. I'm not entirely sure what answer I'm looking for but I've driven both of them and the X1 engine feels massively more responsive and stronger and I wasn't expecting such a difference. I know they are both 1.5 and I'm guessing they may even be the same engine underneath? I'd imagine the X1 is heavier too? Does anyone have any experience or thoughts that may explain why please? thanks |

Gearing? And the x1 has 6 more hp but the same torque which comes in at a lower rpm..

Thanks both.
No ideas on gearing if I'm honest but possible. They are both auto. The X1 is maybe 4 years old, the 2 series has about 300 miles on it now. Drag race. I will try and convince the wife... |

My wife’s Mini is a 65plate, manual 1.5 and my recent 218GC with the same engine, but automatic just didn’t drive the same. The mini is a peach to drive and is really good, so I thought the GC would be as nice with auto very wrong, i think the gpf ruins it. Couldn’t wait to get shut!
