Ugh, glad OK isn't a two plate state.

As for the front plate location, I'm just glad it's not a permanent part of the front bumper like it is on the new BRZ for those of us who don't run a front plate. For me it somewhat ruins an otherwise pretty clean front end...

Yep, would absolutely buy the Toyota over the Subie because of that stupid plate thing. It also has pre drilled holes for the JP plate width and dimples for the US sized plates.

Plus those ugly side vents look like a Shark steamer.

Last gen I preferred the Subaru front end but this end the Toyota looks much better.

Almost all cars carry the next year's calendar year.

Hence the BRZ's that customers started getting at the end of October being a 2022, even though it's still 2021.

I suspect the '23 Z won't actually hit dealer showrooms until June/July.

If I didn't need a rear seat for emergencies, I would be all over it. Instead I plan to go for the Supra with rear seats, aka the G42 M240i.
Supra is definitely overpriced

However, I never buy stripper models of anything so a 400 for me would be north fo $50k, maybe $60kish depending on options available.

I'm not on the gotta be manual train for my new cars. An old Miata or something? Has to be manual

We can agree to disagree

I wouldn't really say the Supra is that overpriced, moreso that the Z is a deal because it's on a very old chassis with lots of bin parts.

The only Z that will be close to $60K will be a Nismo. The base will be about $40K with two packages for $5K each (a sport & a touring). Even with both it will be $5K less than the Supra in 2023 (with a cleaner look).

For my daily, great transmissions like the ZF8 have won me over. For a fun weekend/summer car, I also plan to go the older manual route (specifically a Lotus Elise).

A $50k car is a "deal" b/c it is outdated? lmao

I don't know, I'm a fan so far. I like the simplicity of it, it's a throwback to the Z cars of old. The last thing this world needs is another car with more disjointed tucks, bends, and creases than Bruce Jenner's face.

Agree on the latter, but they took a 370Z & slapped different bumpers on it & moved some interior things around. That is lazy. Should have, and could have, been so much better

I pretty much agree on the interior. The chassis is the same as the 370 albeit modified and the M/T used is likely the exact same. The A/T is now the 9spd. and I'm sure you know the engine is the VR30 and not the VQ37. LSD is now mechanical. The body has more new parts than old as only the roof, windshield and maybe the driver/passenger windows are reused.

The new parts are nearly all cosmetic outside of the drivetrain. The underpinnings are exactly the same. The car should drive nearly exactly like the 370Z.

Could have, should have, if Nissan is in any better financial position (they really are not)
Credit does go to Nissan at least for insisting going at it alone rather than partnering up, doing so might have actually yielded a far better product underneath, but they did not

I might also add, its funny how Nissan always seem to have another car far more important to launch properly next to the Z. In the 370's case, it was the GTR, in this case, the Ariya.

We'll see about that. Everyone said the same about the 2nd gen BRZ/86 and that has shown to be quite a substantial difference in driving dynamics.

Yeah, I thought we all knew that by now but I guess some people still think that it uses the same powertrain and only the bumpers are different
