Audi C7 RS6 and RS7 are mechanically identical. Akin to the BMW M3 and M4.

RS7 is WIDER than the RS6.

Are you sure you've tested BOTH RS6 and RS7 ?

They drive very similarly (Same engine, gearbox, chasis, interior (almost), steering rack, etc etc)

Some ppl drives manual like they only have one leg !

yes... Drove the RS6 around Silverstone for 3 laps accompanied, and for 30 miles on back roads. I drove the RS7 for about 20 miles on back roads.

RS7 did not feel anything like as tight as the RS6 Avant I tested, I can't remember if the test model had the Adaptive Suspension option, I know the RS6 did.

I almost bought the RS6 Avant. I liked it but couldn't get it in my work space, I did not say the RS7 was bigger or smaller, I had already discounted it. I guess in the US you prefer saloons, in Europe the RS7 does not sell well compared to the RS6 Avant.

Sorry but the R8 Manual was hideous. 2 of us drove it, we both had the opportunity of about an hours driving and returned it after 20 mins each. I have had manual 997's, 996 GT3, race preped TT / Golf GTI / Type R Civics etc. so know how to drive a manual thanks.

If you like it, you like it, but with the Audi S-Tronic being as good as it is, why would you want an antiquated manual.

Remember this is just my opinion. I hated it. If you love it, good for you, I would certainly not berate you for it, nor should you me for my opinion.

As a past owner of almost every generation M3, you can say I'm a diehard BMW guy. But as my SN suggests I also love Audi.

I'm surprised someone is blasting the R8 V10 6MT transmission as it's simply one of the best out there. I've had 3 R8's now and all of them are 6MT and could NEVER IMAGINE owning an awkward dated technology R-tronic. (there's a reason why no one wants R-tronic and those things sit while the 6MT cars are more desirable). The new S-tronic is better but still does not give the feel of a 6MT car.

I know we all have opinions but just wanted to state I love my 6MT R8 tranny. It's one of the best out there right next to the Honda shifters.

Pleased you liked it. I've only ever driven the late V10 R8 so cannot comment on R-Tronic over S-Tronic. It was just not for me. I was not blasting it chap, but simply I (and my colleague) didn't get on with it.

PS - Full carbon package looks sweet in that pic. Well done sir.

thanks, as I said too, all personal preference. My DD I prefer paddles but my weekend toys I prefer to row gears. I know the paddles are faster but not my cup of tea.

The only m3 I had which I kept less than a year is my e90 m3. I think it was because of the DCT tranny. If I had a manual the car would probably still be in my garage. I did drive a new GT3 with the paddles and the PDK is amazing.

I think its great they're reverting to V6 turbo'd engines. The V8's are much more costly in the short and long run, and I believe they're generally heavier (correct me if im wrong).

Agreed my friend. I had an R8 V8 6MT and that shifter/transmission exceeded all my expectations.

I didn't like the clutch release on my R8. Delayed and very high. My GT4 has about the perfect clutch release and release location in comparison. The gated shifter is cool though.

wow! that interior is insane with that shift knob. not only do I love the 6MT, but the gated shifter is phenomenal. so classic. these will no doubt hold their value.

I'd consider an R8 V8 manual as a next car even if it's much slower than the F80. AWD for the northeast, gated shifter, V8, exotic looks it would be sweet.
