Hi all, I noticed these strange metallic strips on my 554 M Performance wheels (winter tyre setup).

Anyone know what they are? They are longer on the front wheels.

Balance weights, although I don't know why they had to make them so conspicuous.

Not necessarily the explanation; my new M135iX had the same.

yep the wheels and tyres were ordered winter of 2020 had them on for about 5-6 months, but i never noticed the balance weights - i had them stored at BMW and refitted last Nov and only a few days ago i noticed them. guess i have to pay more attention to my car...

My factory fitted tyres do not stand out as much as tyre fitters don't carry a stock of different colours, however I was right. 😁
