Ok well this Escalade is about 7k cheaper than any other escalade in the catagory (2007-2010) I say has to be 2007 or newer is because thats when they put the LS3 (I believe its an LS3) 403 HP 6.2L push-rod motor in it with a 6 speed automatic. I like this era a lot it has the stability control the safety of a Big Full size SUV and of course LUXURY! Now I am a big DIY guy but this Truck/SUV has its problems. The last owner took out the stock system which I think is a shame considering it has a nice sounding Bose system. The dealer said they guy had multiple batteries in it and the stereo that was put in was draining the battery. The 3rd row seats were removed and I have no clue what that is on the floor. I cant remember all the problems but 1 of them was with the steering leak (rack and pinion or power steering pump/lines). If I bought this I would invest into getting the stereo back to OEM (not sure what that would cost me used) and fix all the mechanical issues with it. I am a big DIY guy (otherwise I wouldnt have a N54 335xi AWD pushing 22-24 psi on stock turbos lol). When i talked to this dealer the actual manager told me I dont want this Escalade. Now I love Gm's pushrod v-8 motors and think they are VERY reliable probably the best V-8's ever made (the LS series with 6 bolt mains). It seems like a basic Escalade but I think it would be nice to have with 2 kids (atm). I have a fully loaded Envoy but its a 2005 without even stability control (big believer of stability control). It also has 176k on the clock too. What do you guys think here is the link to it its right down the road from me.

It's cheap for a reason and that dealer just wants to unload it, you'd be better spending a few grand more up front and getting a better one.

Funny I got married in 2008, and the limo was one of those. I asked my wife to make sure the co. states on the receipt that it has 403 HP, she was like are you sure (I hear the guy in the background say 2008 model, new! new!!) I said make sure he rights it on the receipt...it was the new one that showed up....

the fact it is a GM product, already by itself would make me not want to buy it
but then accident and you said it has problems? 100% not. 5 owner. run away. there is obviously a reason why it jumped from owner to owner... this is a shit car to begin with before you even start to look at its particular issues. mechanics special stick to japanese and german quality. |

my dad has a mazda 6 for his commute and I enjoy it a lot when we switch cars. its very nimble and fun to drive for its size. even BMW themselves have strayed away from road feel and driver pleasure in chase of luxury sales. I also drove a G35s 6speed some time back and it drove very nice.. but couldnt stand the roughness of the v6 I would still take a 335i |

Can't go wrong with a pushrod V8....it's basically a Tahoe man. But that being said they're very nice when running.
If you're ready to pull the trigger on an Escalade and want to put in the time to fix it (namely all the electrical), go for it. Those motors wont let you down if they have been even slightly taken care of. |

but if you plan to use it on the street, why? feels and handles like a boat. shit fuel economy AND slow at the same time. I would at least expect one or the other, not for it to be shit at both. |

Yea I don't mind fixing up an Escalade really... I have been working on cars for ages my best friend is a ASE certified mechanic we rebuilt a 383 stoker LT1 and T-56 transmission in his kitchen lol (out of a 1995 camaro). Nothing car wise scares me... well besides some BMW crap like the $700 in tools to take out and put the damn cams in... gtfo lol. About the gas mileage and slow.... well the 2007+ have 403 hp hits 60 in 6.3 (Not bad for a 6000 lb full size SUV) and does the qtr mile in 14.8 @ 95 mph... now gas mileage Sucks but the LS motors are sick and have a 6 bolt main in them! I am going to take a look at it after my appt today I just want something I can pay cash for without a loan that is safe. After my mom barely lived through a head on collision 60 mph to 60 mph with a full sized pickup truck and is disabled for life in her mid-sized sedan car and the pickup truck driver didn't have a scratch on him having a family of 4 I want safety. I know you guys talk about a Lexus here but if that Lexus hit say an Escalade head on 60 and 60 I would bet the 6000 lb full frame escalade would fair better. I am guessing the Lexus has a ubibody and weighs less. I just like bigger SUVs safety and money can't replace life and it can happen to anyone. Seeing my mom in the ICU for 2 months with so many surgerys to put all the smashed up bones together the best that they could has changed me in terms of safety.
