This is my new 2021 X5 40i

Hello everyone
I picked up this 2021 X5 for 53k with following specs.

2021 X5 xDrive40i
Clean carfax, single owner
3.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder
19k miles
Carbon black metallic
Cognac Leather
20" spoke wheels
Executive package
Luxury seating package

I have been driving Porsche Cayenne. I love everything about the BMW, except for the following 2 things

1) Steering wheel has no feel. I felt like I am driving a toy car. Is there a way to change this? No, going into sport mode doesn't change much
2) Instrument cluster brightness during evenings. Damn thing is so dark and there is no way to change it.

Is there a way to fix these concerns?

Congratulations and enjoy!
X5(G05)'s steering is light compared to cayenne, but still very precise, and better than most SUVs. Unless you upgrade to X5M ( true M steering), you can't get Porsche's steering feel (which is closest to hydraulic IMO). 911(and maybe Taycan)'s steering are the best.

Congratulations on the new X5.

1. No

2. Try using the thumbwheel to adjust the brightness.

Adjusting the brightness is only available at night.

Congratulations, it does look great.

Yes, the steering feels quite light, but I love how direct it is and have gotten used to it's lightness. Maybe it was improoved on the LCI?

Is there a screen protection film installed on your X5?

Congrats

No this thing is a cruiser. It's capable thanks to an underlying 50/50 RWD-biased chassis; but the steering is often lifeless and requires a lot of lock to even respond (at lower speeds), the suspension damping is too bouncy, and weight transfer/body roll is very evident.

Expectations - reality = happiness. Drive it like an old person, don't expect it to be an "ultimate driving machine," and you'll be content.
