Z4 M front bumper vents

i have a question for those who have removed the front bumper cover.

my passenger-side vent (the mate black part) is loose. i have checked the clips in the wheel well liner and they are intact. that tells me that there are other tabs or clips arount the front opening that could be broken.

could anyone tell me a little more about them?

There are two clips on top of the brake duct that clip into a bracket that is located above the brake duct. This is what holds the brake duct in place. The bracket is black and is shaped like an "L"

No its actually a black painted metal bracket that I believe bolts on to the front clip of the car.

Ooooh, this is actually something I would like to know as well. I'm doing an ///M bumper conversion soon, and will need to purchase these brake ducts and brackets, so I need to know how they attach. I saw the realoem diagram, but it wasn't exactly clear, but if the bracket is something that just attaches to the front clip, then that should be pretty straightforward. I guess in my case it's just a matter of hoping that holes are already present for mounthing (since my car is a non-///M)

But if anyone out there has a real picture of the actual brake ducts with the front bumper removed, that would be most helpful indeed!

My apologies in advance for hi-jacking this thread

BTW, they are not brake ducts. They are to apply downforce. They force the air through a small hole upwards onto the tire.

The only way to have ducts going to the brakes would be to catch the air flow from the central vent.

More than likely it not the bracket that is broken but the clips on top of the brake duct. I have a new brake duct on order right now because mine are broken from a small incident at the track
