What should my next car be?

TLDR
I've currently got a '14 428i vert, and it's just too heavy, auto, numb and modern to drive. I long for something older, lightweight, engaging, manual and fun. I'm between an e30 vert or an NA/NB miata, both manual but also open to other vehicles.

Some random thoughts about my next car
I love the great sound systems that modern BMWs have. In highschool this dude had the most awesome e30 and I've always wanted one. I also just miss my old NA miata. I feel like I should go for something different tho. The e30 verts around me less than 10 and none of them are great deals or perfect. Miatas are plentiful and cheaper, but less exciting since I've had one.

Honda S2000. Fun to drive. Revs to 9,000 RPM. Will more than likely only increase in value. Sound system not so great, however.

What's your budget..? Need to plan for the cost of the car plus some initial maintenance.

The car I've been thinking of giving up my 128i for is a 987.2 Cayman, base model with the 2.9L, manual of course. I usually prefer the lower HP model (see: 128i) because I enjoy working my way through the gears to make it go, and the Porsche 2.9L is also supposed to have less maintenance concerns than the 3.4L 'S' engine. And Cayman's are surprisingly useful as a daily with storage both in the hatch and frunk.

If you're considering the Miata, you should probably also go test drive a Boxster. Even better handling, enough storage for a weekend away for two, top down goodness.
