You might be continuing the narrow mindset thinking I live for this forum or it’s posters. My experience extends far beyond.

Good read thanks for posting.

Too much being made of his "get used to it" comment. I think it's a broader comment about how sometimes it takes time to accept and adapt to change.

I think the G8x will sell fine...lots of buyers will be excited about owning something bold, aggressive and/or "controversial". Is it enough buyers to replace BMW loyalists that will pass on an M3 for the first time? We'll find out soon enough. But this isn't going to put BMW out of business.

And if the big grills don't sell well, BMW will adapt and change and we'll all move on with our lives and find something new to bitch about. Win/win.

To clarify, I didn't imply that you are a Tesla guy. My Tesla friends like to use the Nokia example.

This! No other manufacturer shaped and slapped the German Manufacturer more than Tesla in the past 10 years.

Once German manufacturers will bring electric vehicles to the market, Tesla will remain with some dusty products..
They have just found a niche and exploited the diesel scandals.
If not adapted, this strategy will not be successful for a long period of time

The M2C is my first BMW and it drew me out of the Porsche lineup . . . for the time being.

Absolutely love the M2C, but it's not a sport car. It's a fantastic sporty coupe that does it all for ME.

I am now interested in experiencing the BMW icon - the next M3 (G80) iteration. . . I believe it will be a brilliant driving machine!

You are so wrong unfortunately!

So far only Volkswagen know and agreed how "dangerous" Tesla can be for the German Manufacturer.

It's not about cars anymore but mobility and lifestyle...

Image in an alternate universe, they came up with the new M3/4 that looked awesome and the majority actually liked/loved, would they still have to spend so much energy telling people to get used to it? Doesn't the fact that they have to keep reiterating this, shows the errors in their ways?

At what point will they admit this design direction was not a good idea? Only when after the first adapters/"must get new" people get their cars and the sells drop off?

Being the only manufacturer that offers a 6MT RWD car is not enough incentive for a buyer to ignore this design blunder.

Exactly, and judging by the activity on the G8x sub, there is still plenty of interest here. If the car is good, they will sell a lot of them regardless of the grille. I see no reason the upward sales trend will end with G8x.

If anything, the availability of AWD alone will move a lot of cars in the US. There are so many people that insist they need AWD to drive through those 3 snowstorms per year...

Wait, so the f8x forums dissent is easily dismissed and not indicative of market behavior or common thought, however, the g8x forums are somehow the antithesis?

Quite interesting.
