So my first impressions to this car are not really "good", i don't know if its only me or maybe is a general situation.

First i noticed that the brake feeling is different from other cars i had. The car is new so i will give more time to really make an deeper comment on this, but i noticed that to activate the hold system i need to make a little more pressure in the brake pedal as normal, then when activated i press the gas a little to unlock the hold system then the car jumps to the front immediately and fast.
In the X5 i can touch the gas pedal and the system is deactivated but the car dont jumps in the front, it stays in the same place and then it starts to drive slowly, its a lot progressive. It may seem stupid but if you are parking in a small place and the car jumps like crazy its difficult to park and you have to brake hard to not hit the car in the front or to solve this you need to deactivate the hold system. In the G05 its working just fine.

Second think that is bothering me is the Aisin Gearbox.
Clearly is not as sharp as the ZF8 that i have on the G05.
In the beginning is was more dramatic, changing gears is not as smooth as i thought it would be even in Comfort. i think gearbox learns how you drive and seems to be better but i never noticed that on the ZF. Was perfect since 1St Day. Sometimes it struggles to find the perfect gear to the speed im going, also strange to me. Even the DSG from Tiguan i didn't like seems to be smoother than Aisin. But i hope its a matter of time.

Unfortunately it is not over, after 100km i noticed that the steering wheel was not right, its slightly to the right and if i center the SW the car drives to the left. Don't want to remember when i had an VW tiguan model 2018, after 50k km i had the same problem and to fix that the VW had to put an new rear axle...

No it's not all, the HUD is also not right. the Left side is closer than the right side, the right side is sharp but the left is blurred, that said i can not see the HUD as Sharp as it is on the G05.
I made an appointment with BMW and it will go for 1 or 2 days to fix this things.

Since i don't like the color of the wheels im testing the wrap film on one wheel. This weeks will be a good test because roads have salt due the Snow, its very cold and then i will wash it with high pressure water. If passes the test i will apply the film on the other wheels.
To the summer setup i have some Bola Wheels in Matt black in mind.

I noticed also that the Signal recognition works perfect but it doesn't adjusts automatically the speed. i always need to accept manually.
In the G05 i have auto adjustment and its just perfect. In this case i will try to find in the coding software the way to code this. It has to be a way to do this, its just annoying to do it manually.

I hope this complains and feedback dont annoy you guys.

Fell free to comment and share your feedback about everything.

after 2200km i have not felt any issues with the hold assist at all and the brakes seem very ok to me.

i agree with you (and many reviewers) that the gearbox is not the sharpest, i always drive in sport mode and will often go to manual to make it a little more aggressive. in general quite happy with the car.

If I was to change anything, I would of opted for the 18" 554m forged wheels like I have on my f44.

I would like to have the Adaptive Suspension but only possible with 18 wheels, so i opted for the 19 wheels, i did not want to rist buy the adaptive and then being stuck with 18 wheels.

You prefer 18 due to comfort?

I noticed that you have HR springs, did you notice a change of ride quality from the M suspension?

I have Air on G05 so between both cars its a huge difference, but im thinking in maybe lower the F40 but its already very hard with the M suspension.

I chose the 18's due to being forged. I also prefer them for cost of replacement tires. I also wanted an all dark wheel to complete the blacked out car look. As far as ride quality the 19's that were on the demo car felt the same. With the H&R the ride got slightly stiffer.

I had hr on the f15 and it was really stiffer.

I don't want that on F40.

I think I will try one of these eibach or dähler

Hi aznyooly

If im not wrong i have Hexis with rapid air film, but i'm not sure, i can confirm you later. i did a few wrapping jobs in the past and i had this foil in the garage.
For now its holding good even with -8 degrees.
I will wash them later this week.

Thanks for the prompt answer

So how did you cut the vinyl ? I thought it was already pre-cut.
Ok, please let me know how the wrap handles the water pressure

Have a good day!

Hi

I did the vinyl design myself, only prototyping.
If works i will design it in illustrator and cut it with a cutting plotter.

The vinyl is HEXIS | SKINTAC | HX20889B | Coal Black Gloss

Hi,

Thanks for letting me know ! That is actually very nice.
Is it easy to do it by yourself ?
I've asked my garage, it cost 160€ per wheel for the covering
and to paint it it is actually the same price..

For 160 i would paint them.

Here in Switzerland they ask for 400chf painting.
As i have foil i can try it for free but i think they would ask me in the garage also almost the same price as painting.

Yes its noticeable, i will try to see if some other foil matches better but the result its good.
When i had this problem with the steering wheel, they called me and they told me that one wheel was different, they didn't notice that was the same but wrapped, so....

In my eyes i see the difference but in others eyes don't

I must say the Xdrive works very very well, in the company parking lot some of my colleges could not park the car with this amount of snow and i did without problems. I drive with dsc off (tracktion mode on) with this amount of snow.
