Will M2C ever sound as good as it's twin turbo'd predecessor ???
I hope that someone comes up with an aftermarket exhaust configuration that makes s55 sounds as good as this n54 2 turbo predecessor....
Have a listen to this... An M2C, that sounded like this, would shut all the s55 haters up 100%

Since you have basically two times an inline three cylinder in the s55 (two manifolds, each with one turbo) it will never sound like the n54. Iirc n54 is one manifold with two turbos.

I don't the more I look into the S55 the more I'm impressed with it,
I mean how many production cars have an air to liquid intercooler as stock? Let alone have twin turbos WITHOUT using a BOV or a Diverter valve, losing excess boost through the engine management. Does it sound bad? At first to me yes, it did. Now I've grown to love it as it has a very unique sound. I do wish it had the howl of the N55 or even the B58 but the engineering that has gone into the S55 is amazing. I'm excited to see the S58. |

They probably won't ever. The s55 has been around for a while now and as far as I recall, no one has made an exhaust that comes close to sounding like this beauty.
But that's ok! Enjoy your M2c, who cares what others think! |

I Dont`t care what others think, but i care what i as an owner think. Ì`d like the car to sound good but unfortunatelly with M2C thats not an option. Will be getting one regardless

main sound characteristic is produced by the engine and engine management (build, ignition etc.) not the exhaust.
You can change minor parts of the accustic via exhaust design and piping, thats it. |

Although I went the opposite route. I passed on an M4 and went with the M2, knowing it didn't have the beloved s55. Once I find a clean 1M...I'll have the two non-M engined M cars in the stable I commend you on getting a vehicle knowing full well you won't be pleased with the sound! That's ballsy! |

Probably not but at least the cars that have the S55 don't look like a fat cat dragging it's belly on the ground.

N54 might sound better than the S55...but they seriously lack reliability. Also the N54's that are modded almost never run lol.

Never heard it irl, so i hope the sound grows on me. Just drove my AA exhaust M2 last time, now it's going to sale, damn that sound is great. But the S55 is so much superior to N55, that's the reason to switch for me. |

335is is 335i + mpe - had this configuration on my e91 n54. Exhaust change makes n54 sound superb. Also 135i n54 with mpe trumps 335is - as above proves my point.

Which is basicly my point. N55 will always sound like an N55 N54 will always sound like an N54 Maybe a little bit different, based on the exhaust setup but you can hear the characteristic (dont get me wrong, i really like the N55 and N54). S55 will never be able to sound like an N55 or N54. You can hear an S55 from miles away and still be able to tell that it is an S55. Same goes for engines like Merc 4.0T V8, VAG 4.0TFSI etc. Every engine got his own sound, which is awesome |

I'm sure not having any exhaust tubing doesn't hurt the sound either
