Supra goes 10.55 @ 129.66 at the strip. Mission Performance Stage 2 & Downpipe only
Ran across this on IG last week - and figured I'd share. The potential in this 2nd gen B58 engine is simply amazing.
Anyhoo just passing along the info for those that are interested Note: I'm not well versed in drag numbers comparatively speaking - but I did do a little google searching with the aforementioned results and I've come to understand that they are impressive. 10.5s is insane. In comparison, a stock M5 competition does it in 11.2s (+/- a couple of milliseconds) @130 (+/- a couple of MPH) as per various magazines and videos on the internet (I have no experience with any M5 when it comes to drag racing and stuff - please don’t flame me if I’m wrong).
So yes. The B58 has a lot of potential.

It's sad to see so many Supras killing it and no one really doing much with the M340's. They are a 12.0-12.2 stock and it took 9 months to see one break into the 11s. Actually, were these a 12.0 stock? I thought I remembered someone hitting a 12.0.

Ah gotcha. I’ve watched a few videos from carwow (love their YouTube channel) and they seem to get a ~11.2s quarter mile when they can launch it properly.
Also, a stock M340i does the quarter in 12.0s? That’s crazy. I thought it was more like 12.5-12.7?

I like the carwow races too, but sometimes their times are way off. The M5 sucks to launch. If you don't take off as soon as launch control engages, it builds too much boost and spins then kills the power for a second. So I can see them messing that up.
Here's the link to the 12.0 run: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1658231

Anyone know why the Supra came out with a different cylinder head on its B58? (Has cast in exhaust manifold).
Anyone know why in 2021 models they are changing it back to same as all BMW models use? (6 separate exhaust ports). Current Supra buyers are probably pissed. The cast in exhaust manifold on a performance engine never made any sense to me. Toyota got woke. Not that it sounds like it’s hurting the 2020 Supra performance, 10s in the quarter ain’t bad. |

Could be. But what I’m referring to is the integrated exhaust manifold in the head. AFAIK, the ONLY car that has it is the 2020 Supra. (Based on visual verification by gear head Bimmer Fanboy)
