We have been through this many times already in other threads but the Nurburgring times are primarily done to rope in people that will just run with stuff like this without investigating if the car was exactly the same as the one you can buy at the dealer. It's still a great achievement by Honda but it's not as fast or capable as that Nurburgring time would indicate.

There's already rumours of a Civic Type R with CF roof and no spoiler running around Nurburgring trying to get the title back after being dethroned by the Megane RS Trophy R which in itself is also not the exact same car you can buy at a dealer. The whole thing to me is embarrassing quite frankly. The cars should be full production like any off a dealer lot or it's just a pointless exercise of dick swinging that "we can teak our car to be faster than yours".

No problem, add 30 seconds to it, still a very fast car.

Impressive laptimes of FWD will matter, until you understeer into a wall.

Not sure how this makes any sense as if RWD cars never hit walls.

This guys face says it all! Looks like a fun car.

I'd love to see an M2 version of this, but what would it be called? M4 - coupe M3 sedan M2 - couple M1? haha

It would naturally be called M2 Gran Coupe if it were to exist at some point, but no such product is in the pipeline.

I was a little hesitant about this but the more pics start to come out the more I like it. looks like a little rally car.

The newest sighting of the 2 Series Gran Coupe M-Sport reveals more styling than ever! The QR code seen on the side of the prototype indicates that the its public marketing campaign is imminent, with more preview images coming July 24.

Wow, by the title I expected something small and weird looking but what is revealed seem very good and sporty. Still it will be a small budgety car and bmw marketing will tell us how this goes back to roots and that we have here the legendary e46 in modern look, nope...

However I think this also is giving us a hint on upcoming 4 series and M3/4. Looks good although I said to myself my next car won't be a bimmer I might give them a chance..,

Haven't seen much addressing an M2GC?? how about an M2GCCS? yes please! Although full disclosure I'd probably get the M3 for more useable space at a similar price.....M2GCCP would be pretty fun tho if priced definitely below M3CP
