BMW X7 (G07) LCI - Yellow DRLs
Seeking advice from fellow BMW enthusiasts: I'm interested in altering the DRLs of my 2023 BMW X7 LCI to CSL style yellow DRLs. Has anyone experimented with this modification or discovered a method to achieve it effectively? Any insights, experiences, or recommended approaches would be greatly appreciated!

Short answer: not it can not be done via coding; Impossible.
For those who have done it (mostly on the 4, 3-series and 5-series), they bought a "tape" kit that's installed inside the light and requires the light to be removed and fully opened. That tape would then glow green/yellow or whatever color the tape is designed to show when the DRL lights are on. The other method involves adding a chip to the headlight modules along with some coding. Many examples can be found, and you can find one by searching YouTube for "F22 BMW PRE-LCI YELLOW DRL INSTALL || BIMMERCODE EYEBROW CODING" I wouldn't worry about it. Both methods aren't really recommended. Way too much risk for a car like X7 LCI since it's still under warranty. The newer BMW headlights since 2019 are prone to failure already, and any issues down the road with these headlights would mean that warranty would be declined to fix them if anything goes wrong. |
