Decibel limit solution?

Hey,

I am planning to participate a drift day in Weeze. that day there is a decibel limit of 92db.

My M2C has an opf back system from Milltek so too loud. if I remove the connectors from the valves when it is in efficient mode. Will the valves also remain closed in sport plus?

Could this cause problems?

Yes, it would keep them closed. Just zip tie them out of the way. Will also not cause any problems

I've done exactly this with the same exhaust setup. Spent a whole day at the track without issue and allowed me to fly under the radar in terms of track noise posts. Only concern I guess would be increased back pressure and potential loss in power?

you didn't notice any loss of power?

Difficult to say, it was the first time I had taken the car to that particular track. I have driven the car on another track with no noise limit with valves open and the difference didn't feel obvious, but potentially a touch less at the top end. Then again that could be placebo due to less noise

EDIT: Also, the track with the valves closed was wet all day so I couldn't floor it anywhere regardless so impossible to compare properly.

car doesn't give an error either?

No errors all day, no. The way I see it is closing the valves restricts air flow and increases back pressure (all gases are forced through the back box). Although not ideal, if it was damaging then all these people who put silencers on their car or even the 'pillows' would experience similar problems (especially those that use them over and above a back box). I don't think you're at risk of causing any damage, but the physics dictate you will lose at least some power.
