It’s true that the discount is fixed at 5% off the base price of the car, both MSRP and invoice. It doesn’t mean that the dealer can’t agree to sell the car for less than ED MSRP. And it doesn’t mean that other incentives can’t be applied.

It should also be noted IMO, that in many forum member's experience (both here and on the 'other' forum), negotiated European Delivery prices often result in a higher % off than when working from retail price. This is because ED cars don't come out of a dealer's regular allocation, and as such that particular unit's margin is not as constrained.

For ED options are priced at the standard, undiscounted MSRP and invoice. Their prices are negotiable, just as with a U.S. delivery.

Ok, putting aside ED is 5% off msrp for UD Delivery reasonable and fair? How much for options?
I’m trying to work with a local dealer instead of going through the hassles of shopping around as I did with the F30. |

Add all the packages and options you want, and then negotiate a percentage off MSRP.
My wife’s lease ends 30 days before mine so I was negotiating a package deal: an X3 for her and a M340i for me. I tried hard to use this as leverage, and I was able to get 9% off MSRP before incentives for both vehicles. I don’t consider myself a master negotiator so it’s possible that others could have done better. I placed the order on Saturday and it’s already in production! I just hope that BMW gets a list of port installed options before my car gets to the port. I’m not a fan of the standard grill and the other copper (cesium gray?) accents and I want to replace them with the gloss black kit. I think the copper looks good on the black M340i, but not as much on the blue I ordered. Last edited by CrownRoyal79; 03-05-2019 at 12:05 PM.. |
