Um.... I don't want to be a devil's advocate here, and I do like the coupe, but I honestly believe the sedan is much more agressive looking.
It has a scowl in the headlights and grill. The coupe almost has a similar scowl but the sedan looks like its brows are furrowed. Ok, nuff of that. Both are really nice in anycase. More choices are better then less eh? |

I love the looks of the e90. But the E92 looks slightly better in my opinion - especially the headlights. That, and I'm just a sucker for coupes.

Where the coupe seems to win is in the cohesiveness of design and in overall elegance. To me, the sedan seems styled (even a bit fussily so, especially in the rear), while the coupe feels designed. There are little to none of those distracting "huh!?" moments looking at the coupe that have plaqued BMW's of the Bangle era. The Z4 refresh, along with the 3 coupe, are the first modern BMW's to embody the fresh new design language without the overt strangeness of the 5 and 7. The way I see it, the sedan maintains the traditional 3 series "bulldog" stance while the coupe introduces a new element of elegance more in line with the 6 and 7 while also being more overtly sporty than either. It'll be an interesting time! |
