Mrs W loves it. Hasn't stopped talking about the car since we collected it.

Heated steering wheel is nice and toasty
Congrats Washy (and Mrs W of course). Just be careful out there if the wind is as strong as here in Hampshire today.

Pretty bad here in Northamptonshire too. Could feel it pushing the car as we drove along!

Hi Washy, just noticed that your car has Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres, rather than Bridgestone Potenza S001 and Pirelli Cinturato P7 previously seen on other X1s. Wonder if that makes any difference to the road noise and ride?

I was surprised to find it had the Dunlop tyres on when we picked the car up. The recommended tyre pressures seem high to me as well at 2.9 bar front and 2.7 bar rear.

We seem to getting a variety of tyre brands and types, so I've started a new thread if anyone else is interested. I've found it could make quite difference to the experience of cars in the past.

Added a couple more interior shots and will do some more exterior stuff once the car is clean again and there is some decent light about.

Awesome car! I have ordered AW Msport as well. Can't wait to get it delivered.

What's your take on the HK sound system? Some seem to complain about the tyre noise. Any comments about that?

Not really had chance to test out the HK system much yet, but it seems a nice upgrade. I do find with all BMW HK systems they do need to be 'run in' for a while before they sound at their best.

Based on the few miles covered so far there is a bit of tyre noise with the 19 inch wheels on poorer surfaces, but more than acceptable most of the time. I have no complaints at all regarding the ride and handling, however sport mode on the edc does make things very firm.

I agree the systems wil need at least 10-12 hours of running time before you can get a true picture of sound quality... Am I right in believing there isn't an easy on the HK as per my F10?

Thanks for feedback on the ride, it's a question I was going to ask as well. Nice to hear it firms up nicely for when I get to drive it alone

The HK doesn't have any eq adjustment just usual bass and treble. In sport mode you can press on quite nicely if you need to

Had a go with the traffic jam assist on the way in this morning. Seems to work quite well although the car seems to launch itself quite abruptly when it move off.

So now that you have had the car for a couple of weeks are you still happy with it? Anything that you think is essential or a waste of money?

Looking for feedback on ride with M Sport package and 19" wheels too if you don't mind?

Very happy with it, although my time in the drivers seat has been very limited. Diesel engine is very quiet, refined and we are getting 47mpg from it which is not bad at all.
Build quality is good and we have had no issues with the car at all apart from the tailgate not wanting to open using the foot sensor.

Loving all of the toys we have. The traffic jam assist was a godsend on the M1 the other evening. I still wish I had ordered the sliding rear seats, but can't change that now. Oh yes the HUD is genius. Off hand I can't think of anything that was a waste of money other than I am not sure the HK audio is as nice sounding as the one in my car, but I have found they need running in a bit to sound decent.

Have thought a lot about the ride and have done some back to back with my edc fitted M235i and whilst I know it is all very subjective I think that if you are used to a BMW the ride on the 19's with the edc wouldn't come as much of a surprise as it is very similar to my two series. Cabin noise is more especially on rougher roads, but the 2 series is on 18's and non run flat tyres. Having said that the ride is quite firm with the edc set in sport mode and can get choppy on poor surfaces.
Two weeks in and I don't even think about it anymore the only thing that sticks with me after every journey is what a good car it is.
