Dealer Don't Prefer BMWFS
I just financed my new BMW through the dealership. I was surprised when they sold me a loan through a small bank in the Midwest, rather than one from BMWFS. They didn't mention the BMWFS loan at all until I asked. Is this a common practice or was it just the dealership that I went to?

BMWFS is not very competitive right now. If your dealer is looking out for you they will offer alternatives.

Really the only times that we'll use BMWFS is if they have special subvented rates that they sometimes offer to help support sales (we use BMWFS almost 100% on CPO cars because of their special rates for these cars), if they will approve a customer that some of our other banks will not, or if we are doing a lease or balloon finance, since BMW is the only one to offer attractive programs in our market.
