Found a dent / scratch on my hood
Sigh and I am one of those types who likes to wallow in despair when something goes wrong.
I attached pictures it is a bit hard to make out but is a dent on the hood + a scratch of some sort? I think it was man made from probably parking on the street. Does anyone know if a dent like this can just be buffed / polished out? I am hoping this is the case, if so i can get the dealership to give it a go when i drop it in for a service in 4 months time. |

PDR (Paintless dent removal) should pull it right out.

Thanks guys =)
I did a quick google search for some mobile PDR so i might just get one to swing by to fix it up while im at work. I have a rock chip they can remove too. Mobile PDR is just as good as going into the shop right? lol Obviously depends on the company but all things being equal a van versus a shop should be the same right? |

Does the dent change appearance if you pop the hood latch and release tension on the hood?
I have BSM and I have a slight dent only when the hood is securely latched. Once I pop the hood mine is completely gone. |

Just make sure the PDR guy is pretty good. In rare cases, they can make it worse. Also, if you've never seen PDR in action, you'll be surprised at the strength and durability of automotive paint/clear.

My buddy did PDR and it took the dent right out... Unfortunately though, the same area started to ripple/crack a few months down the road

He came and it is fixed. The scratch is still there but the dent is gone.
Does anyone know who can fix the scratch? Is it a touch up paint job or should i speak to my dealership to get this fixed? Really quite interesting how he was doing it though, he was just pushing it out with some tool then hammering in parts of it with a little hammer lol im surprised it didnt ruin the paint o.O (Scratch aside obviously) |
