Do you void warranty if you DIY- oil change?
Just wanted to ask, would the dealership void the warranty if you changed the oil yourself? I mean if you have the receipts, used BMW approved oil and OEM filter, I can't see why not. And how would they find out? ... perhaps if you did not line up the marking when tightening the oil filter housing.

im in the same boat... they need to see that a professional changed your oil... i completely forgot before i had someone change my oil that i needed the reciept saying that he changed it and i paid for it so now i need to scramble for a oil change receipt lol...
my warranty company needs me to keep track of maintenance online so they need the invoice numbers... so while its under warranty you can't change it yourself. |

I just changed my oil today midway between the BMW scheduled 25,000km service. I lined up the oil filter with the markings, so I highly doubt they would be able to tell that I changed the oil. It won't even enter their mind.
