then yes, wait for it. It will come out, and it will be worth it.
I'm waiting, but I'm in danger of losing my patience, leasing, and buying the 335 after the lease.

In the US the last time BMW did a 3 model (not incl M) 3 series lineup was with the e36 in 1998. They had a 318, 323, 328.

Oh, I do. And you should also know why I'm so keen on waiting for a little while, right now...

If I don't see a new set of engines come Fall of this year, I'm either going to say to hell with it and buy the E90 anyway (maybe a Z4 coupe?), or I'll buy an IS350 and bore myself to death (literally - between the fact that it'll put me to sleep behind the wheel AND the fact that I'll never get a chance to experience a major component failing at an inopportune time...) so that I'll be eager to see what BMW is doing with the E90 three years from now.

Most of the members here knew this would happen within two years of the E90 release so it should come as no suprise

Right, there are said production calendars... but not that support the claims made regarding the 3 series in the OP... which is why I said it sounds like a fake.

Maybe they will do that. Who cares. If you want the newer car then trade up.

I planned on driving this 330 for 4 years and then trading in again for another. I hope there is a 300hp version avail then.

I think that the 330i is and always will be the top of the line 3 series for a while. Besides the general public does not know the difference in the last 2 digits of the model. All they know is that it is a 3 series and it is a BMW.

The only real logical conclusion to me it seems is that BMW
will keep the existing 325 and 330i line up and introduce
the 335 as a top end model between the 330i and M3.
If there is no 335, then 325 and 330 may get a slight HP
boost. The 330i took the crown in every magazine test
so far. All the other options just don't logically make sense
If the re-badging is going to occur then it will occur in '07
for the 2008 models.

Well, they could run a shortened '07 model year, and introduce new engines in early '07 as '08 models.
And I could see Europe getting them first in the Fall, but this contradicts what SpeedFreak has been saying.

I think BMW is scared of the new Infiniti G35 screwing everything up. Besides, americans really care about HP. My neighbor recently bought a G35 6MT coupe, so I asked him if he thought about the Z4 and the 330ci:

"It only has 225 HP! What a load of crap!"

Americans want to show off, and thats why they want HP. Even if the 330i does win among driving enthuisiats, the real market is regular people. Regular people want HP.

BMW also doesn't want to be behind in anything. I don't think the 330 is underpowered, but the Lexus has more HP. The fact that Lexus has an edge in even one category over the Bimmer is not an idea BMW likes. They want to be the best in everything. They want to be the benchmark in every way, including 0-60. Sure, it may not be necessary for the car, but it is for marketing.

G35

BMW better be scared of the new G35! Infiniti is doing all of their homework, and it shows. The pictures of the next generation G35 look absolutely incredible! I WANT IT! And from what I have seen of the E92 so far, well the G35 will be an easy decision for me. Sorry Guys!

ummm, I don't think so. If BMW cared so much, they could've made the current E90 more powerful.

BMW has nothing to worry about. They have a big share of the entry level luxury sport sedan market. They will sell cars and people will buy them. I did. I did knowing I could've had a GTO, 300C, EVO, etc...All those cars have more power than the e90...so?

I can see BMW shaking in their boots now...

Nothing to be sorry about, go buy the new G. You think I'm going to feel when I see the new "G" on the streets? NOT! Different cars for different people. I'm glad BMW doen't cater to people like you. More BMW for us!

G35

It is not just about power! Come on, just take a look at the photos. Just based on design, which one looks better? I started a new thread E92 or THIS (G35)! I at least want to wait and see a road test between the two cars.

What sort of midgets do they think are going to be able to cram into the back seat? I think its garish, over-chromed, overdone. More like a Mitsu. Not in the same category, but I find the Cayman & Z4 coupe much more interesting.

Why wait? You know the new "G" is gonna be faster...go order one now! You don't need to wait to see how they look right? I mean the "G" is a hands down winner in that department too right?

Besides that, you do know that not everyone sees things like you right? You think everyone finds the new design as you? Different strokes for different folks. Plus, none of them will ever drive like a BMW.

"it doesn't drive like a bmw" sounds like plain boring BMW driver excuse to me.

Yes, it does drive unique. but I'll trade in my E90 for that G35 ANYDAY.
BMW is DEFINITELY worried about the competitions, why do you think 335 is coming out with more power?
IS350/G35 is stealing BMW customers. ALOT of them.

Infiniti is more reliable than bmw anyways.

Where do you get your info from? Can you back these statements up with facts? Either way I don't care. I looked at the Infinity and the BMW, even a 300c srt8 and none of them were as nice as the BMW. Shit the 300c SRT8 had 400 HP. Where and how often can you really use it?

The g35 is just a Nissan 350z with different panels and the IS is a Toyota all day long in my book. Blaaaaaaaaa. And that picture of the G35 is a concept. It will differ from the production version so don't get your hopes up.
