VMR Wheels on 335xi

I've been on the M3 side of the site for four years and will be doing the mod thing with the new ride.

I'm at the end of my lease and moving into a 335xi Coupe. I have a staggered set of 'VMR V710 wheels, 245/40/18 front, 265/40/18 rear.

Front 8.5 offset 35
Rear 9.5 offset 33

Is the size difference front to rear to much for the X drive.

Thanks,

Bill

the wheels fit but the tires are off. you will need new tires that are within 1% of the oem size. use this calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Those tire sizes will not work as they are well over 1% diff in rolling diameter...plus, you don't want 40 series tires on both the front and back

You should be running 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 in the rear OR 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 in the rear.

To clarify. Not 1% of the OEM size, but the front and back have to be within 1% of each other.

So I can keep the fronts and buy 275/35/18 rears and will be within 1% difference? Any rubbing issues with these sizes at stock hight?

P.S. what style VMR's are you running.

Thanks again.

That's correct, it's right around a 0.5% difference, well within tolerance. You may have some rubbing with a 275 tire but could likely cure it with a fender roll.

I'm running 18" V710's in gunmetal.

I have 245/35/19 front 275/ 30/19 rear on sedan. I don't rub. Just a FYI. I'm going to lower it too.

I'm 18x8.5 ET35 all around with 12 mm spacers in the rear so I don't have any rubbing
