Just a thought: because this is your first BMW, it is really fun and exciting to do a build yourself. You can create the exact spec you want for the 340i and it will be the new ride you want for years to come.
I did this with my very first BMW, in my case a 330i, and the experience of the build, the tracking — the fun of feeling like BMW was building my car just for me —was priceless. Having said that, this Forum is very knowledgable if you are going to choose a Certified Pre-Owned too. Best wishes whatever you decide! |

seems most used goes for 45-50k (20-30k) mileage while new one goes for 64k so 14k difference is this worth and new 2024? |

This is a personal question. Get what makes you happy and if the money isn't a huge factor you're better off new because you will be getting exactly what you want and won't have to second guess how previous owner/s have treated the car prior to used sale. Alternatively if you can find one that is loaded, relatively low miles and preferrably CPO; but then again you'd have to spend time spotting those unicorns.

I think you need to make a personal preference decision. What exactly do you want and need? Do you need adaptive cruise control for your commutes? If so, then you need the Driving Assistance Professional Package, which is hard to come by (both used and dealer built new) Do you care about the stiffness of the M Sport Suspension? Would you prefer an option to have a more compliant suspension? Do you frequently have passengers that would appreciate it? Then you may need Adaptive M Suspension. Which is also not common for dealer builds, so there are less of them out there. What about interior? Do you prefer leather? And do you want/need adjustable side bolsters? Then you need to find builds with leather seats. Does sound quality matter? Harmon kardon surround sound in the 2023+ is better than early models with hk, and much better than base. But you may also plan to overhaul the sound system… so you need to decide what starting system you want. Do you want surround view camera? Then you need Parking Assistance Package. And heated seats and heated steering wheel? Then add Premium Package (didn’t see that on your first link). |

Someone else will have to chime in, my car is in production. I test drove a few that were available in my area. Adaptive suspension and surround view camera are must haves for me. They make the world of difference and I personally could not compromise. Once I noticed I couldn’t find those options used or sitting on a lot, I decided to order a custom build and load it with everything I wanted. Whatever you decide, do not pay MSRP in this market. You can negotiate a decent discount before incentives. For used, the market is in a strange place… but you may have some room to negotiate. |

I bought a new one of the dealer lot… but it was exactly as I wanted it. I had to drive hundred's of miles to get it though. Even got the price well below MSRP.
I personally did not feel comfortable buying used, as I know how I drive my cars (hard). I don’t think there are many M340’s out there that have been babied. The car is just too inviting :-) and I am worried I inherit someone else’s problems.

Normalguy93 Some wisdom as a seasoned BMW enthusiast (4+ owned) . Don’t just buy to buy. If you settle with your purchase, you will regret it. We see people constantly buying something just to realize they wanted something else. We then see that same person sell the first car and buy something else or spending a fortune on mods that won’t make then happy. Just make sure to do your homework (watch YouTube, read posts, browse Instagram and more to find the vehicle that fits your liking)

[QUOTE=Normalguy93;31118820]How do u order? Can u still negotiate on a custom order?
These orders aren’t really considered “custom” per se. Folks do this all the time, and you absolutely still negotiate. If you want an “Individual” color, that would be the one spec that adds significant time and (about $5,000) extra cost. You can do the order at the dealership with one of the reps. It’s helpful to configure your build on-line ahead of time to prepare for exactly what you want. Make sure they have an actual allocation for you. There are super knowledgable veterans on the Forum who can tell you more! For example, you might want to ask for So Cal recommendations of who to work with in your area. |

The F30 is the most numb feeling 3 series of the whole lineup. E90 to f30 got numbed down like crazy. G20 fixed it a little obviously not as engaging as E9X generation but much better. Maybe others have different experience but this was mine when I drove the F30 multiple times. |

Wasnt saying its a bad car whatsoever but Just sharing my experience from my little time driving some friends cars. I do Agree though the B58 and ZF8 are a perfect pairing in both generation cars. |

Once the 2025 M340i MY changes are released, do you know if BMW will still give us the option of ordering a 2024 or will we only be able to order 2025's at that point?
