12v Socket depth problem?

This may have been asked in another thread but I can't find it.

I have a 2022 228xi Gran Coupe. Unlike previous models I've owned, it does not have a 12v outlet in the trunk/boot.

Has anyone had issues with the depth of the 12v socket between the cup holder? It works fine with a CLA adaptor to charge phones. However, I plugged in a tire inflator and it isn't making any contact. I immediately tried it on a friend's 2022 530xi and it worked fine.

The I4 forum shows that this is a known issue with that car. My dealer has no clue. I put a multimeter into the socket and it's putting out more than enough wattage to power the inflator.

Any ideas for solutions?

I also use a tyre inflator with my car, I usually use the boot 12v power source but I'll try the one inside the cabin and let you know..
