Given that all cars have the 7inch screen, the idrive controller with nav button on it - wouldnt it be just a case of wiring up a GPS aerial and plugging something into the USB port to provide the software? Im sure there is going to be a retrofit at somepoint .
The basics are there - shame u cant wire up a tom tom to show on the screen.

You can probably get it retrofitted at the dealers' but not anywhere else as there needs to be programming and coding done to get it to work on your car. Cross regional maps are not an issue as it just requires a special code ( which the dealer can request from the factory ) to get the map for your region updated onto the existing map

The big screen is nice, pity having a hard disk is kinda outdated.. but having integrated NAV is cool, if just to look at
Does the factory screen/CIC have a aux-in for video? |

what do you want instead of a hard disk? solid state drive??? don't even go there...can you imagine what BMW would charge for that as an option, logic and market prices would not apply

my tiny, pathetic, knock-off 'bmw' 4gb usb drive i got for 13bucks on ebay works fine for music.. can't you use the same thing for NAV or movies?
thinking how often my home pc hard disc crashes or comes up with some kind of problem, and its heavy, it moves, its makes that whirling noise, it uses electricity, AND you have to wait for it to boot -holy crap, aliens would think we were retarded or sadistic to still use hard discs! |

I would like to fit it if possible in my lease 520 m-sport and then take it back out and sell it on when the car goes back, beats paying £2k in extra lease payments over 3 years for no return and looks much better than my TomTom system |

Have no idea. The dealer did it for me. Many do it this way here in DK due to the "extreme" (read horrible) taxes here.
When i did it, i had the bigger screen, harddisc and the navigation proffesionel |

Where can a brand new satnav for a F10 come from? |

Where do all the scraped parts from totalled cars go? You'd think there would be alot more parts floating around..
Any websites for those parts from Poland? hehe |
