Verizon Wireless XV6700
Does anyone have experience pairing this phone with their E90?
I need a PDA phone that operates on Windows mobile. I have the Motorola V710 phone now which works perfectly with my 330xi, but I am ready to replace the phone under the Verizon class action suit. I am also considering the Treo 700w. but I do not like it as well as the XV6700. I can't get either if they don't pair with my car as I drive 100 miles a day and Connecticut is a "hands-free" law state.

Thanks for the link! I had previously read the very deatailed set-up info you posted. It sounds as if the 700w will work, but I am still curious if anyone has tried the XV6700...as I would prefer this phone. My eyes are fading on me and the screen on the 6700 is much larger and easier to read than the 700w.

I still have it, I live by this thing. I got my work and home/gmail accounts on it and it's got internet access as well. I'm using it now to type this response. Worth every penny.

I have an xv6700 (im typing this post at a bar with it) I'm getting my new 330xi in a few weeks and will post a tutorial on how to pair it. I would asume that the pairing should be no different then a bluetooth headset as long as bmw doesn't stray from the standard.
I've had numerous BT headsets and while they all had different ways to pair the phone , they all worked, by the way, I would go with the 6700 over the treo. |

Why not just get the phone and see if it pairs? If not, you can return the phone within 14 days and get a different one.
I want this phone as well and was thinking about doing that. |

On the nav screen you can see your phone book, signal strength, incoming calls, etc. You can also dial the phone by number or voice dial. My phone (currently V710) has it's own voice dial software, but when I sync with my 330, the car's voice dial overrides the phone.

I called Verizon to find out what to do if I don't want the phone (hoping I could then just go to the Verizon store and exchange it within the 15 days) but the said NO. If it doesn't pair, I have to pack it up and send it back and order another phone through the web. What a pain in the arse. That's also why I posted here to try and avoid the hassel.

I think it will pair without too much of an issue, if not, I'll come out with a custom app or firmware for the xv6700/WinMobile 5. I love the phone too much to let the bmw stop it from pairing.

i had the treo700w then i thought how cool a bigger screen so i traded for a 6700 and after about 15 days i called CS and asked to get my treo700w again. Why? Because the reception on that phone is horrible (I would miss calls and not even know that i missed them because it never rang through), the sliding keyboard gets really old when you're trying to answer emails etc on the fly it's def not made for one handed operation. All i have to say is, if you need a PHONE first and foremost the 6700 is not your candidate. It's a wonderful PDA and then a phone. Whereas the 700w is a great phone first and PDA 2nd, with that being said, i get my PUSH email from work, outlook calendar and other apps that i use throughout the day without a problem.

If it is a BMW, do you have full functionality (i.e. phone book)? Please elaborate!

Just curious if you ever got the 6700. I like the larger resolution as well as the slide out keyboard. It just seems easier to reply to emails with a larger keyboard.
I think I am going to order one tomorrow. I read some reviews about the phone missing calls and it looks like it comes from verizon set up so that the phone and wifi or anything else will not work at the same time so if anything is running, calls will not come through. The PDA part takes precedence over phone reception. There is a simple fix (registry edit) which I can post if you want me to once I get the phone. Any others have this phone that want to comment on how they like it? |
