NO MODS

Whatever.

Bottom line....the majority of us have done a mod. Whether you like it or not....you have. Some may not want to be lumped into that category because it carries some label along with it. Basically...you do not want to admit you are one of those people because you think they are less than you...in some way.

But....I am sorry...all little things that have been changed in the vehicles are mods. Including putting in a short shifter.

What I don't get about this thread is not how different people define the term "modding", but rather, how adamant some people are about telling people that what they think is wrong. Like they're going to change anyone's opinion. What's the point? I don't go around forcing my opinion on other people. I don't tell people who get ugly wheels or lips that their cars look like crap. Think what you want to but give it up on trying to convince others what they think is wrong. I will think what I want to think, and you will think what you want to. Not everyone has to agree with each other!

But...your car is not stock. It has a short shifter that you purchase from a parts store (which happened to be a dealer) and swapped out your old shifter and put in a new one that you liked better.

And I asked "What's the condition of your car, have any modifications been made"

And you told me "No"...You'd be lying.

Because once I showed up and saw you had tints and a short shifter I'd see the car is modded....the opposite of stock from the factory.

lay off the black and white show mikey. Putting a short shifter and tinting the windows is not the same as putting on 20" rims and a bodykit etc...

I would sell my car with the stock shifter though. :P
Also especially since I live in Florida, tint is not modding, it's a necessity, so long as the tint is legal I don't think anyone would care.

That doesnt change the fact that you're altering the car the way it came from the factory, hence MODDING.

Since you live in Florida and tinting is a necessity that means it's not a mod?

-Using that ideology because some one goes to the track and has a full race suspension and racing slicks that must not be a mod either...because it's a necessity for the track.

Yes...that was me. I made a post saying I am a lousy 6mt driver.

That means I have lost all cred? LOL!

This is my first 6mt car I've had in my entire life, and I've had it for less than 2 months. I am simply trying to get advice on how to become better.

Even the best drivers in the world continue to practice to get better.

I'm sorry if I didn't pop out of the womb and have full on knowledge on how to heel-toe down shift and the like. It's a learning process and EVERYONE goes through out. I am not afraid to admit I am bad at something...however, I am afraid of not improving.

this thread is pretty funny...i love to mod..thanks to E90post and the great deals...i agree with people..if you put or change anything in your car that the car is modded...tint is a mod..spoilers, short shifters, etc...i mod my car because i think the mod looks good and makes the car look better..its your car..you do what you want..you do what you like..

Exactly...I'm not saying modding is better than being stock.

Different strokes for different folks.

However, it just irks me when some one is clearly modifying the car, but insists it's stock.

Nikki seems nice and fiesty... AND local. So, if I trade in my wife for her, would that be considered modding since they both have the same OEM parts??? Or would that be more of of a trade down?

PS. Nikki, tints and chaning out your shifter are modifications. Plain & SIMPLE. Just ask any CHP (or any orther California cop, about the tints). Yes, I realize that you are not in CA, but I am trying to see if it sinks in without irking you too much. Not trying trying to chnage your opinion as I don't care about it, just amused at how obtuse some people are. Plus, I wanted in on this hilarious thread. :lmao:
