changing the ADVs to these VRS 104
Ordered these babies yesterday from Nate at IND
10,5 x 22 Pirelli Scorpion Zero 295/30/22 12 x 22 335/25/22 Last shot is what I have on right now What do you guys think? I am more of a mono block guy than 3 piece and I feel the VRS are cleaner and less bling. Also the 3 Piece looks smaller than mono block, and I am loving the lip less and less each day |

I was thinking the same....but opted for the ADV 7 Deep Concave Max Lip Option with legs....also available in monoblock....they look more "constructed" than the V's IMO
Personally I don't think the Vorsteiner have as much "pop" and concave/deep appearance so opted for the ADV's. Love them. Either way you can't go wrong. Both high quality. Go satin matte black! Selling your ADV's? pm me please PS I know I need to drop - thinking KW V3 coilovers with EDC termination module

Your rims are fantastic, seeing them makes me realise I should have done a deep concave and zero lip on my front ADVs Anyway I still think VRS is more my style. They will be much lighter also On colour, I've had so many black wheel sets. I'm liking the satin gunmetal on AW! I already sold the ADVs besides it would have been $1300 shipping cost from me to you! On suspension; I'm not sure it's worth spending the money on coilovers on a truck. H and R is fine go 1,5" drop it's not that hard and handling is great. Last edited by Bob MG; 06-10-2011 at 01:43 AM.. |

I agree- the vorstieners are the way to go for the X5/X6M. I just got my V107s today, I'll get them on the truck Monday or Tuesday.
I have ADVs on the M3, but the monoblock is a cleaner and classier look for sure. Less bling like you said. Kinda wish I went with a one peice for the m3 too. You may see my 3 peice for sale soon |

I think they would have looked phat on my M...really was torn between the ADV 10 with your color/finish versus the ADV 7 matt black face / polished black lips. Where did you see the rash? On the rears? Likely from the sandblasting effects from the fronts, and known fender flare issue. I have the HR 1.3" drop on my garage...next time I visit the dealer I'll throw them on. I believe you have the 1.8"/ larger drop...I have heard that over larger bumps at high speed the rear of the truck bounces a bit- do you notice this? And my wife wants me to do the deed down there as well... how's the 3 month long term feeling? No pain?

on the H & R, I definitely have the less severe of the two drops offered. Nate supplies me everything and he knows I wouldn't like the bouncier feel. I do however feel the bounce when EDC is switched off. I always drive in M dynamic mode with EDC set to Sport and its feels great IMO. I would just fit them and be done with it. The fronts actually drop the most with this set up, which is really needed. You also can adjust the rear drop by turning the linkage up or down. Its very sensitive adjustment. My rule of thumb was 3 1/2 fingers between tire and fender. As for the cahonas, all is good. Non event, and I highly recommend it if you have had enough rats LOL. My wife says to me (over a glass of wine the other night), "don't you feel like having another little one?" (number 3). I'm like...HELLOOOO Needles to say with an 11 yr and 5 yr old, I certainly don't want to be up feeding and changing nappies again. |

BobMG- The Dark Blue (or Carbon black) X6 you posted pics of- does that have a drop? Looks like stock ride height. I did not lower the X5M and Im hoping Im happy with the 22's without the drop. If these pics are stock height I think Im ok. I'll know Monday for sure...
Northern2020- how do you like the deep concave from ADV? I love mine on the M3, but they arent all that "deep" in person. Some of the photos I've seen are taken at just the right angle, but in person I dont get the same "deep" effect. (see the pic below) |

The rears are way more concave than I thought they would be, and everyone that see's them tell me this too. Pictures don't do them justice. I'll try to take some high quality iso shots and post.

Good choice Bob MG. THat's my CB 2011 X6M in the pic at the TOronto International Autoshow. The V104's are more concave than you think and look great in person. The X6 is not lowered, we tried it on Hand R 1.2/2 inch drop with the V104 22inch but the ride was too harsh.
By the way the wheels and tires (Conti UHP cross contact high performance summers) are for sale. Had to sell the car due various reasons- none to do with the car itself (quite sad about it actually) and now in a 5 series. PM me if interested and I iwll post an official thread in the buy and sell section. For what its worth I talked to HRE VOrsteiner and ADV before I bought and only HRE and Vorsteiner could guarantee the weight requirements for the vehicle and both had lighter wheels. Cheers |

Those VRS wheels really fit the X6m well. I am in the market for a X5m/X6m for the wife but I do not care for the stock wheels.
BobMG, I've seen your X6m in another thread when you were getting the ADVs and I thought the end result was quite nice but this should look amazing. I can't wait to see them installed. Roetgen, that CB X6m is perfect. Most modded X6s I see are overly done. Sorry it had to go. Thanks for the ideas guys.

Bob MG-
Definately keep us in the loop on the KW V3 setup. I am close to pulling the trigger but looking for actually thoughts from someone going from H&R to KW. I am currently running H&R 2" drop with Vorsteiner V-105 on Pirelli 335/25/22 and 295/30/22 so I definately feel the roads. My SS Downpipes, Akra exhaust, ESS Tune and Vorsteiner vented hood are being installed this week. This will finish out my Vorsteiner kit and give me similar power plant gains you have seen. If you find the KW setup much better than H&R for your X6M then I will be right behind you... Thanks for sharing as you blaze the trail. |
