Still no word from Michigan....
I know I can get a 5000 foot runway, would you be able to max out a 335i or an M6 with room for braking? Any physics guys??

Depends on the rate of deceleration, which depends on the mass of the vehicle and the amount of friction of the brakes/tires. A vehicle decelerating at the rate of .5g requires more than 1700 feet of road if they are braking from 160 MPH. I don't know the average rate of deceleration for these vehicles, so it's difficult to say.
You may want to mark off (discreetly) a section of long highway to a length of 5000' and see what is the fastest you can get before needing to slam on the brakes to come to rest before 5000'. You also should take into consideration that not all brakes are going to work the same, so use the worst case vehicle deceleration. |

there are many airports that are in indiana that may be willing to do this. Now i do not know what is required, but i know that maybe finding small airports will be the hardest part as not all may be listed. For example i know of an airport in starke county indiana (about 30 miles east of valpo, and 6 miles south) but i am not sure of the length or their willingness to rent it out. my folks got a house in town and the town has food/gas/hotel so it can support a nice meet. thats all assuming the airport is rentable.
just checked out a website, they have a 4,400' x 75' and a 3,085' x 145' runway.

I spoke to the manager and we can use the taxiway but not the main runway and you can only run alone (no side by side).... I think it is a pass on Oscada... Anywhere else with a 6000+ foot patch of roadway?
