well it depends on what you're trying to accomplish by installing coil overs...if you're going for better handling i wouldn't say v1's are the thing you want. Looks and a cushy ride they're great for.

It will be my weekend car pretty much since I have a pick up for work.. I'd like to do maybe 2-4 auto cross a year and I am a spirited driver on the curves... Would like a well planted rear end coming out hard on off ramps and long sweepers any info would help thanks focused

V1's are soft and cushy?! Good to know. I thought they were supposed to be a significant upgrade from stock and improve handling. What about a 2011 with better spring rates vs N54 models? What would be a good upgrade for them?

Sorry if hijack

Well assuming you're budgeting in the V1 price range I'd say going to with koni yellows and eibach springs would give you better handling and the ability to adjust some of the stiffness for varying conditions if you auto cross. Def invest in some camber plates to go with it too. That'd be my $.02 for what it's worth. There's lotsa debate on here over what to do. It really comes down to budget and what you want to do.

FWIW I have a 2011 with kw v2's....love them for the street but i find them a bit soft on the track. I plan to upgrade to swift springs over the winter as my 135 is becoming a weekend car vs my dd.

Nice how would you describe the ride on your set up , I'm looking for a firm button down ride , do you think with what you said and the m3 bushings would be adequte?

More firm and much less body roll than the stock setup. I did not go all the way to replace the rear bushings becuase of it is a more labor intensive work and it is not a DIY project.

Def Koni yellow and Eibach springs, or bilstein HD's with Eibach springs better than v'1s, IMO.

Garage List
Sounds to me like KW V1's will be perfect for you. But a spring and shock system would work also and it would be cheaper. Whereas with coilovers you can adjust the height and get it exactly where you want it. But then again getting this height right does require a little expertise and technically you should get a corner balance after coil installation.

I'd call V1's 50-100% stiffer than stock. Still not stiff enough for the track but they do stop tons of body roll, etc and still ride smooth in most situations. To me they make the car ride like it should have from the factory since this really isn't a track car anyways. For sure it won't ride near as stiff as a stock Porsche or Corvette. I'd actually hope the 1M is still significantly stiffer.

My car is still pretty bouncy. Supposedly the rear M bushing mod will fix much of that. Good luck!
